The actual number is really much, much more, but that is kind of the breaking point for simultaneous users with the site configured the way it is, and running off of a single web server. It stopped at around 9,000 because at that point the server was pegged at 100% CPU utilization and could not process any more visitors.

I guess you have 10Mb/s, one server, 2158 users. You come up at the top on search engines, they'll look find out they lost, but then will browse for awhile when they see all the great stuff here and you gain at least a thousand more members in the next day or so. LOL jarasan

I don't know what the number will be but this is a great opportunity to increase Lottery Posts membership. You should have a banner ad or somthing like that floating on the page. Advertising is king

Just a friendly heads-up to Lottery Post members.

Tonight, sometime around 10:30, I will start turning off some features at Lottery Post, because I am preparing for some heavy-duty volumes of traffic due to the record Mega Millions drawing at 11:00.

I will specifically turn off features that are very taxing on the server, such as the predictions system (ALL predictions pages) and the Search feature. There may be a few other things as well.
