It might be a lot more efficient to use a spreadsheet to track/predict MM/PB. You can Group the Numbers Drawn any way you want, then generate Statistics from your groupings. In addition you can create Charts & Graphs from the Grouped Data.

Suggestion For Megamillions:

I would change your group categories to:

01-07, 08-14, 15-21, 22-28, 29-35, 36-42, 43-49, 50-56.

Also, I would concentrate on a last digit analysis.

Current Draw: 16-22-29-39-42-20

I would'nt isolate the MB from this analysis.

Welcome to the club, there are other LP members who are also working on systems to improve their odds of picking more winning combinations and I'm one of them. The trouble I had with commercial lottery programs is that using them locks you into someone else's logic and they are usually designed to look good rather than be informative.

I just spent the last 2 hours writing down the WB's in the 1-5 columns in groups of 1-5, 6-10, 11-15, etc since they changed the matrix in June '05. Just writing those down I noticed some interesting patterns.

When I look back at some of my quickpicks, they never had a shot. My only QP for the 390 mill was like 46, 52, 53, 55, 56 *35*. When I bought it I thought maybe it had a shot because of how crazy the choice was but it lost miserably as all my other 20 picked off the top of my head... [ More ]

If you still interested in doing something yourself, you'll probably want to make sure your data is correct and in the order of the date it occurred, that way you can get an idea of the numbers of draws each number normally takes to repeat. This will be your data sheet and kept separate from you work sheet. On your worksheet you can calculate the sums and if your combinations are sorted then you can note which numbers are in which positions most often and how close (gap) adjacent numbers value... Anyone ever try trcking/predicting the Mega Millions and/or Powerball by paper? I think I am going to give it a try. What are some of the things that I should look for
