The internet and telephone are resources, the lottery is a game. Sure, you can dislike something about the lottery if you want, but because it's optional, the degree for the reasons you dislike it aren't going to be very high. For example, lets say that I owned my own car dealership and ordered a brand new car and mark it up $4,000. Sure it's my choice to play, but it's also my choice to complain.

Unlike other sources of entertainment, there is no competition that I can go to. The states have a monopoly in this. That gives me the right to complain, hopefully to change things which of course will never happen because of the immense power and greed on their part.

2 things to remember:

1. It's your own choice to play.

2. It's a game. A form of entertainment in which you can win money.

When you take into consideration those 2 things, you'll see playing the lottery is completely optional. And because it's optional, it's one of those things that can't be rightfully disliked. Just like everything else in life, if you don't like something, which includes the lottery, then don't get involved in it.

Yes, Pac. I recently wrote to the FL lottery and the reply was polite, but brief. She wrote nothing in response to if or where they publish the pre-tests or if they are available for public viewing. She did, however, say she was sorry I felt that some procedures interfered with the natural randomness of the game.

However, I don't think the lottery is a scam, just regulated by the State and the State is run by politicians and politicians are run by..... et cetera, et cetera.

No,I hate how we do not see all of our draws in Michigan.The keno game prize has been the same since 1990.The Classic Lotto starts off too small.I think Michigan lottery is a bunch of crap.

The no state tax is perhaps the best deal for NJ. Speaking of websites, I forgot to mention that I don't think IL update the website enough in terms of winners. In that regard, Massachussetts, Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, California, GA all rate high. Makes you go hmmmm.

I voted Yes because I'm mostly happy with NJ. The main thing I DON'T like is the pari-mutuel payouts on Pick 3 and Pick 4. They usually lower than other states.

I LIKE the NJ Lottery because on the whole they don't screw around with a bunch of dopey and gimicky games and names.

They've had their share of clunkers, like Lotzee (now defunct), Cyber Slingo, and a few scratch games that you have to spend 20 minutes to figure out if it's a winner. But the main games -- Pick 6, Cash 5, Pick... [ More ]

I'm happy with TN but they can do better! Put lotto 5 as a daily draw. Also add a Pick 6 lotto game. TN players love lotto 5. I think an instate pick 6 would only improve the lottery and increase sales. (Most of the people I speak to say Powerball is nice but they would like to play a game where TN players win more often).

Maryland Lottery

Without announcing anything they took away the tax free pay out on the bonus match 5 game. You get three boards for two bucks. Big whoop! When i questioned them about the tax they said it was a promotional deal that has ended.

Maryland sells scratch offs that benefit only the stadium authority. I feel they should divide the scratch games to help support the funding they need to repair the infrastructure we need all the plumbing replaced in Maryland under the streets. So t... [ More ]

Now California is a state you've got to love...one hell of a in state game that I always play when I am out that way...AND Mega Millions (they just need to offer Mega ply like Texas to be the undisputed champ of lottery games!). Plus retailers have to love the bonus payout of several hundred thousand dollars whereas in some states like Missouri ($100K) and Kansas ($10K) for PB and Ohio ($40K) and Virginia, the retailer bonus is paltry instead of paramutiel (whoever wrote the rules for Californ... I am not entirely happy with my state lottery...why if I happen to win Mega or Powerball, I will only play Powerball because of the Powerplay option. Nor am I entirely dissatisfied with it either...even though the Illinois lotto starts at $2M, at least it increases at first by 250K, then 500K at a certain point, and then 1M or 2M when it gets over 13 or 14M. I'm cool with New Jersey's Pick 6 but I think they should at least start the jackpot at 3.5 million instead of the paltry 2 million. If they did that I think more people would play it. With the Mega Millions always at least 12 million, why would you play the Pick 6? I only play it when it is over 5 million. I know the odds are better but if I won a pick 6 jackpot, i'd still have to work. I want to win something I can retire off of.
