I agree with the business fact of the lottery needing to find ways to make money, but if you don't increase the payouts you will lose players. Kentucky had a game a long time ago called The Pick it was phased out and when I asked a lottery rep. she couldn't tell me why. I believe it was because too many people were winning on it.

My personal opinion is that the reason online gambling has done so well is .......

1. higher payouts

2. play just about any state and other countries... [ More ]

Yep. Kinda like asking for QP's, thank you very much. May I have another? Why don't they just RHG (random horsey generator) the Kentucky Derby next year? You know like the one MD. runs on-line like Keno, it's called RaceTrax. I certainly would miss the hats and the mint juleps though. jarasan

p.s. I hope not. And three line lotto is a joke. Assuming they pick lines 2 and 3.

I agree with Badger, it is a business. As long as they can sell tickets they have every reason to cut cost. I believe most players do not know nor care how the numbers are selected or what the odds are.

I was in line yesterday, person in front of me saw the promo for the 3 line game. Knew nothing about it but wanted to play $10.00. quick pick of course

sales start today.

I enjoy the chalenge of trying to pick #'s. I have no expectaction that I can really beat the odds. My reward is t... [ More ]

I voted yes . This is the future. Like any business (and the lottery is in one aspect a business...it is one of the few govt-run venues where they actually expect to make a profit to stay valid, as opposed to just tax and spend ) they will know that cutting costs is one of the ways that you heighten the Bottom Line. Not televising drawings -- because with RNG there is nothing to televise) saves hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. Eventually, they won't be able to cut costs at som... [ More ]

That's what happen in WI. They introduced the Bader 5 Computer Generated Numbers game; then shortly after, they all were switched over Computer Generated Numbers.

On a side note, we need to stop using the RNG (Random Number Generator) misnomer when referring to CGN (Computer Generated Numbers) until the state proves by disclosing of the software and hardware used to create these numbers. If you can't test the experiment, and they are experiments in random selection, then you cannot say withou... [ More ]
