The ILC the interprovincial lottery corporation controls the national games. They would have the information on unclaim prizes. A combination of unclaimed prizes and the ILC putting their own money into these huge bonus jackot draws is what ILC does every so often. As far as each provinces individual games, each province's lottery is a crown corporation run by the government.

In Ontario for eg...there is a Minister resposible for lotteries. His name is David Caplan, last time I checked... [ More ]

as long as no one knows you've won a Million then it could..... if people found out you've won a Million including family and friends then winning a million is gonna make life more difficult than winning 40 million.... you can bet on that. It's simple human nature.

ya know I sold my house when I remarried and I had relatives crawl out of the woodwork because of that money that they thought was freed up.

I would be quite statified with a million dollars..

The no tax thing is Canada is cool. But I would like to see bigger Jackpots like in Powerball and MegaMillions. Winning 360Mil Tax free would be insanely great.... then you could actually live the lottery dream.

Now that 6/49 is back down to 4 million and Super 7 at 2.5 Million.. I personally rather wait until it gets up over 12 Million to win it.

a Million dollars just doesn't go that far anymore.

lol, yes what a great idea. I have tryed and nothings comming up. Can't find any federal or provincial legislature for lottery laws in Canada either.

I go to Lottery Post Canada most of the time now. It's really convenient--all Canadian lottery talk. As for Canadian lotteries being tax-free, it is because the governments themselves run the lotteries, no middle people or private groups. So when you see a jackpot advertised, it is advertised as the real amount. The goverment already gets their money, since they run it. That is again why you will never see a jackpot at $100 million, as it the prize is always posted after the cut.

No taxes being paid here in canada eh. Im canadian also.

never talk much here or there cause not much happening with lotto talk... mostly picks there and not much herewhy talk anyway.. insta picks are the way to go

I must admit that both Canada, Australia,( and others that I'm not aware of), have no taxes taken out, which to me is the way to go. And of course the one lump sum....wow..

A national lottery needs to happen here, in the good ol' U.S. of A. Then WE, can also afford to pay everyone the true amount. When you have that many people putting money into the pot, you can offset the payout with the higher than normal income you're getting....What a concept...LOL

There are 1,039 registered members from Canada out of 52,408 total registered.

That means that about 2%, or 1 out of every 50, of the members here are from Canada. That's actually a pretty good ratio, considering the hundreds of countries (191 to be exact) that have registered members here.

What will attract more Canadian members to any thread is a GOOD TOPIC

I have been searching for a forum like this one in hopes of finding one with some Canadian lottery players..I wanted to subscribe but before I do I've noticed that although there are several predictions etc for the Ontario/Canadian lotteries I've never actually met anyone with a Canadian Bio..

Is there anyone in this forum who is interested strictly in the Ontario lottery..Many Thanks
