I don't think there is any doubt he would be a hell-of-a-candidate for the breeders cup. Super race for the both of them......

MADDOG, Good pick! I didn't think she'd beat the boys. Good horse and a good race.

Have to give Curlin credit for the effort he has shown with so few races under his belt. He'd be a good candidate for the Breeder's Cup Classic this fall.

Rags to Riches was sent off as the 4-1 second choice and returned $10.60, $4.40 and $3.20. Curlin, with Robby Albarado aboard, paid $3 and $2.30. Tiago was third and returned $3.70.

Hard Spun finished fourth, followed by C P West, Imawildandcrazyguy and Slew's Tizzy.

Mike, we'd have to look at the TV listings to see. They covered almost all of the Derby card but nothing for the Preakness.

The undercard tomorrow has some major purses and top-notch horses...so I'm hoping it's televised.

The Belmont undercard is going to be pretty good. I hope they televise it like they did the Derby undercard.

The best chances for a decent mutuel on the undercard are:

4th Race # 10 Defrereoftheheart (6/1)

7th Race # 1 Take The Ribbon (5/1)

Win and Place bets.

I'm sticking with my boy Hard Spun. One thing concerns me. He has raced every inch of the first two jewels of the Triple Crown. I'm hoping he's not too tired to give it the same effort in the Belmont.

But he still has the best speed in the field and now a key jockey switch. The regular rider, Pino, has been replaced by Gomez. The connections for Hard Spun were not happy with the piloting by Pino in the Derby and the Preakness. They thought he could have done better with the pace posi... [ More ]
