funny thing about it is that some younger people act more like the definition of an old fart than some older people do.

especially people who are now between say 37 and 54 for some reason..... In fact I was just talking to my wife about how lucky we were to be born between 1958 and 1968... a sparkling 10 year period that created alot of people with some weird attitudes and such that hasn't been repeated since.

i would wait a couple days soak it in, then make a list of the most important bills to pay and family members to bless, then i would claim it, and spoil myself, kids and husband with a three day vacation, then probably get back and look into opening our business which has been a dream for a while. oh and cant forget to remodel my kitchen. and that's it. no fancy cars, no mink coats, no over the top crap. thats not me. so that is what I think i would do 1st.

In some ways going to Vegas and Blowing money first off would be a good thing. As long as you don't blow too much. Best to get the craziness out of one's system first off. Most places advise that people spend 10% of what they win first off on stupid things to get sick of spending money. Sort of the Brewster's Millions Theory.

Of course you could go through 10% of any size jackpot fairly quickly in Vegas.

But I can give a detailed summery of how I would spend 10 million detailed and down to the dime if you like. Because my dreams are not dependent on winning the lottery, what the lottery would do is make things go alot quicker.

Very simple

1) Pay off all personal debt. ( Credit cards, and loans )

2) Buy more Life, Health and auto insurance.

3) Put most of money into low risk Money markets, savings, cds and Government bonds and live off interest. Would avoid stock market, and new business ventures.

4) Buy a nice 2 or 3 bedroom condo with a doorman. Nothing too fancy.

5) Relax on a nice sandy beach. Being a Millionaire is stressful.

After all of the above is completed.

Aside from a nice home and car, plus paying off bills, there's not much more that I would do. Of course, I would donate to some church and charitable groups, but I can't see my life changing that much for myself. It would just be great to not have to worry about bills and expenses any more.

To each his own but I have to ask, why go to Vegas? What are you going to stand to win in Vegas that would even come close to a lottery jackpot? If you're going there just for the sake of 'flash' you might attract some very bad characters.
