Actually I am going to the DC Raffle drawing on Tuesday the 28th. The DC Lottery sent me an invite and I replied, was one of the first 50 (apparently only 100 replied overall) and was invited to go.

I am only attending to see what it is like and also they are giving some nice prizes..scratch-offs, t-shirts, etc. to attendees. I am dragging my non-lottery playing wife since it is on the way to work and is Tuesday morning (an odd time to do this I think). And free coffee and donuts!

So I

That's true Yukio ! MANY countries use live shows to do the draws, using the audience members to press the button. In Ontario for 15 years, a live lottery Wintario, would travel every week to a different town, village and draw its numbers from the community. These people known as button pressers would be from the town. They might be the mayor, a recent Wintario winner, a high school mascot, or Joe Blow off the street. True story: A gentleman one night at a Wintario draw show in Hunts... [ More ]

Absolutely ! I currently attend lottery draws here in Ontario. In fact anyone can go to a lottery draw. All our draws are open to the public, they are also done in a storefront window in downtown Toronto. There's about 7 games drawn for example using a Saturday night schedule. What is great about this is that you see it happens legitimately, that even the draws people buy tickets and lose, and it's really a fun night out. All numbers are video recorded. It's really set up like a game s... [ More ]

Wasn't this recently asked? I said no because I'm pretty certain the people who witness a drawing can't participate in the lottery games. So in a very crazy way I might feel that would be the night my numbers would hit! LOL Anyway, it really sounds boring to me. I suppose if there was a meeting with officials after the drawing and a dinner, it could be interesting. However, I find nothing exciting about seeing some balls with numbers unless those happen to be my numbers.
