Hi Tnplayer805 I'm dfitz59 from Massachusetts I feel the same way...in fact I won $10,000 on a $5.00

scratch ticket but after taxes I only got $7000. bummer... but that was sweet... because after playing for years I won me some finally...Keep on scratching... it does pay off..

You are so right Florida scratch off are a joke! I wont waste my money. I like to play the 500 Million scratch off here in GA where the odds are like 1 in 3.02, I always play 2 cards they are $20 a piece. And usually one is a winner and the other is not, I have a particular store I like to buy them at and my odds seem to be better at this store I always win more than I spent even if its by $20. Absolutely not. They have the highest payout percentages and the best odds, which means, on the average, you'll win more money, more often, than with on-line games. The only drawback would be the fact is that everything has been predetermined, but if you have an instant game that comes from the terminal, that's taken care of too. And even though it is predetermined, nobody knows the results until the ticket is scratched. So go ahead and scratch, just don't go crazy.

I have curtailed my playing recently. I used to play quite a lot.

I would win a lot of small payouts, but of course the losses outweighed the wins .

My best win was $1000 in December last year. My loss was tens of thousands over

a 14 year period. I never said I was a math major, but even I figured out it was a

losing proposition playing those dam things...

After years of playing. I'm totally convinced they are beyond a waste. Best hit ever for me $200, losses, I don't even want to think about it. Florida scratch offs are a joke, might as well flush the money. Better off going to a casino as far as I'm concerned.

used to have a friend a good while back that had the weirdest luck with scratch offs.....

thar'd be days he be dead broke and he'd hit it for a small prize and other days he'd have a good bit in his wallet and couldn't hit the broad side of the barn

I don't recall if he bought the same game or bought tickets of roughly the same price and previous tickets but just seemed strange @ the time

To me they aren't. I don't mind winning the lower prizes like $10-$50. However, I always like knowing there is a chance of me winning the bigger amounts. That's why I don't play the tickets with no top prizes remaining. It takes the fun out of playing but then again... If you knew the next one was a $100 or $500 winner you would buy it no matter the case right

go to any state lottery web site and click see the winners. i doubt the winners would say they were a waste.

on the other hand there are far more losers than winners.

Doesn't matter what roll or book the tickets came from there are so many of them and so few places get the books or rolls with the big winners that there is no way to determine who might have a winning book.

places that sell lots of scratchers tend to get more winners as they are selling many books or rolls of tickets. bu... [ More ]

I seem to keep reading problems with scratch ticket winner locations being preplanned and not random. I'm just wondering if anyone else feels they are a total waste unless it's truely random.

I admit some games get tempting when few tickets are left in a series and there are still large prizes left.
