You can also go to Microsoft's web site and download a variety of free spreadsheets that are designed to help those who are doing personal loans

In Excel the PMT function will provide what you want, I think. You will find it in the pull down menu under Insert. Then click function. PMT is one of the functions and it will be described.

you should click file - new - template - loan

I need a formula that will produce an amortization schedule with periodic payments (Excel). Can anyone help me with this. This is not for a mortage but for a personal loan made to someone.
