Under Tools click on the balloon icon that looks like this -

And then under Category change it to arrows.

I downloaded the snagit program and it is great!!! I put the arrows on my image but I haven't figured out how to make them big like yours. I went on and posted my image in my webstore to show some damage on an item. Thank you very much..now I have something new to play with.

I take the easy way out and just use Snag It when I want to do stuff like this. It's affordable even though I am skilled in Paint Shop Pro X from doing the google group lessons. Lottery Queen turned me on to Paint Shop Pro.

For some reason Paint didn't let me get the color right and it is not a good arrow, but I can't draw good.

I made the yellow arrow there into the picture with Windows Paint, the convertion was with IrfanView.

Janet's arrows are much better

Microsoft Paint will do it. If you have a separate picture of the arrow you can first open up with Paint what you want to add the arrow into then go to Edit/Paste From.. and paste the arrow object onto the picture.

Put the arrow on a different layer and put it in front of your image or (on top) use the move tool to drag it where you want it to point. Or just use the draw tool and choose arrow as the type of line and simply draw it there. It will draw out the arrow.

Or take the easy way out and just download a trial version of Snag it.

and you can print screen your image into snag it and draw your arrows.

The only way that I know of is to convert that image format (jpg) into BMP (Windows BitMap) using a program such as the freeware called IrfanView and then using The Windows program called Paint it is part of Win98SE and maybe also other operating systems, draw your arrow into the picture with it, then save it, then load the picture into IrfanView and reconvert it into the .jpg picture file format.

How can I put an arrow on a picture that points to something in the picture and publish it with the arrow intact so that anyone who looks at the picture will be drawn to what the arrow is pointing to? Using Digital image -jpg.
