1 is the best way to play because of obvious reasons, but if I had to play in a pool I would play with 10.

Was in a pool at work few months back when mega was over 100 million (40 people) 200.00 worth of tickets every drawing ! We won exactly 7 bucks !!!! Go figure

Pools are a great way to increase your odds of AT LEAST hitting something. Even splitting 250k among 10 people is still good to me. At one place I worked we tried a TAKE 5 (NY) pool - we tried all qp's and then we tried picking the #'s. Neither way got us more then $25 bucks and there were10 of us. It only lasted about 2 months then we gave up.

I think if you're going to do a lottery pool, go all out. Get a whole bunch ! I voted more than 10. But, like most of the others, I don't do lottery pools. I am too greedy. Plus, there is all that legal stuff I'm not interested in doing either.

Like most people here, I usually play solo unless there is a large jackpot, then maybe we might take a collection and all pitch in a few dollars each. Since people are always in and out of the office at any given time, and supposingly if we had won, I just KNOW someone would complain and say 'hey..I wanted to pitch in too, I want my share !' ..then a long legal battle would ensue. I like the answer 1 but since I haven't won much, maybe there is power in the larger numbers. So for me the answer would depend on the rules of the pool. I think everyone should be allowed to play if it's a pool at work, as long as they follow the rules. However, I like playing my own numbers and I wouldn't want to share my personal prize money outside of the pool. That is the only way I would ever join a pool. I said the best group is between 5 and 10 ..my reasons why...

First of all it is not bad to join a pool ...all them people who said one i understand why you said it ...i do both ...my $5 bucks buys 10X tickets and the office pools don't play until jackpot is $50 mill or more so even if you share chances are you be a millionaire..c'mon now that makes sense..after work i'll stop and buy my own $10 tickets just for the fun of it....

I only play alone. I have no desire to play with others, but I suppose if the pool were for something like Powerball or Mega Millions I would think that 5 to 10 people would be ideal.

Any number of people in a lottery pool is fine as long everyone is agreeable about the amount of money each contributes.

Personally, if the pool isn't buying more tickets then I usual buy on my own, I not interested in it. For example I'm not interested in being in a pool that buys $5 worth of tickets, I would rather buy that many tickets on my own.

I know alot of people prefer one!!!!..me on the otherhand..I would prefer to play powerball in a group..There are just to damn many combinations to try and hit that thing with 5 or 10 bucks of numbers you picked yourself or using quick pics..I voted between 5 and 10..

I just purchased my 28th pool. We have pools with 4, pools with 10, one with 13...

The book work takes a little time, however, the amount of tickets bought would be more than I would spend alone.

Hopefully something will occur worth mentioning in 2008...
