The time when you buy your tickets doesnt matter..its a myth buying just before drawing (for ball draws)...i bought 3 days before and hit...i bought before drawing and nada..it doesnt matter if you have picked your numbers already....as far as computer drawings i would be skeptical of the timing though..damn machines..they can be manipulated..we just dont know..

We have two types of predictions here; the prediction pages where the results are analyzed and the standard 'one of these numbers should hit' in the other forums. When somebody says they have a system, I check their prediction statistics. Since the lotteries only payout 50 cents on the dollar, anyone over a 50% prize ratio is doing better than a random guess. To actually make money, a system would need over a 100% prize ratio but I wouldn't call that spectacular when the payoff odds on a 200% pr... [ More ]

In the pick3 and pick4 games, other players playing their numbers do not effect what the predictors get if they play. In the pick5, pick6 and jackpot style games, predictors who match 5 or better have usually posted a lot of losing lines before coming up with a winner which probably discourage others from playing their numbers long before they hit.

There's not a predictions on the board who regularly win more than it cost to play his predictions. Some silly idea that popped into my head in the dead of night and I want to see if it would work. If someone wins using my posted numbers, I can't really get upset if I didn't play them myself, can I? And no one is twisting my arm to put them up there, are they? For instance, I have several lines that I play every draw. I refuse to post those.

I think it's easier to analyze the numbers in pick-5 game than the predictors because the statistics are geared more for pick-3 and pick-4 games. The current hot predictor for just the last 30 days by prize ratio all states is only 47.61% and that means had you played all their predictions, you would expect to lose $52.39 for every $100 you bet. There are 4 predictors over 100% (break even point) in the lifetime category but winning $30 from 12 predictions won't have people anxiously waiting for... [ More ]

When I post Pick 3 numbers I post them at anytime. When I post numbers for Hot Lotto or Powerball, I tend to post them before the deadline. I don't believe anyone really looks at my numbers, but I prefer to be the only one who plays my set of numbers for jackpot games. I hope one day Todd can put something up that will allow our numbers in jackpot games to be private until the drawing.

If you do not like posting your numbers early and you have the time you could always post them just before the 1 hour deadline. I think that is the allotted time here at the lottery post. On the jackpot games don't they stop selling tickets an hour in advance? If timed just right you could have the best of both worlds and not have to worry about someone playing your numbers.

If that post was view'd by, say 500 people, do you think there's a chance that some of them will play your numbers as well, lowering your chance to claim a jackpot and winning more for yourself, especially if you have a high winning history here on LP
