Number trackers have an advantage of winning secondary prizes when they wheel the numbers because when 3 or 4 of their numbers are drawn, they will have more winning tickets. But when it comes to buying an equal number of QPs, there is no advantage of winning the jackpot either way.

The 70% statistic probably reflects that more people buy QPs when the jackpot is high.

Serious players also play QP's, because they know that there are far more QP winners regardless of how many play them. Facts are facts, which is why you never hear of a system winner ever, only QP winners.

I definitely would not assume that trackers only are serious. I was just as serious with quick picks as I am now with my other methods. As I've mentioned in another thread, so serious that I developed my own quick pick method/strategy .

Can't tell you how many times I had stores hit (with big winners) that I had been targeting for hot/lucky quick pick buys.

The professional golfer Lee Trevino defined a serious bet as the time when he bet $50 on a round of golf and only had 5 bucks in his pocket.

I would define a serious lottery player as someone that played a large combination wheel in a pick-5 or lotto game and not somebody that bet the same amount of money on QPs. Granted, both are just large bets but a serious player would have a methodology for choosing which numbers to play giving them a better chance of breaking even or winning a couple of... [ More ]

yeah..I have seen them..but you see what the BIG DEAL IS..if you try and run them together it becomes a 5:1 ratio...now there are 5 draws but you only get paid for one..just like powerball..4 draws before..one after..so that becomes a 6:1 ratio..they have 6 draws and you only get paid for one..the other 5 will mess up what you are looking for

I would just like to see what I could do in a state that doesnt pretest their draws..

I think Texas post their predraw results on their website somewhere.

It has been a few years since I looked.

Still a continuous game adding the pretest to tracking.

I track the results of the games I play, but it's because I record those results in a program that compare them with the numbers I've played. I have files of the games past results and files of the numbers that I played for each of those drawings so it just natural for me to look at what I've done in the past and try to do better in the future.

I guess that makes me a serious player even though I only buy a few tickets. Trying to pick a lottery winner is an enjoyable hobby for me.... [ More ]

I guess I consider myself serious player as I do play alot. But I also really enjoy trying to figure out what # is coming out next or why the last # came out. And of course I use birthdates and other such # s when I play mega. Guess I have heard about toooo many winners that used those type #'s

I consider myself a serious player, although I don't win serious money, LOL.. I have yearly calendars dating back to 2003 with the numbers on each day, I have excel spreadsheets, I have vtracs in excel spreadsheets color-coded. And, still can't win on a consistent basis.

I guess I am in the middle. I don't seriously track numbers everyday and I don't just go out and buy quick picks every draw either. Most times I pick my own numbers for drawings, but every now and then I buy a quick pick.

I have a couple of workouts for each of the Texas lottery games, plus MegaMillions. I update the data streams everyday, but I don't play all of the games everyday.

Lately, I've been concentrating on Pick 3 and hit 2 box picks last week. Spent $6 and got $80 back!

I play Cash 5 everyday, but the jackpots have fallen to around $25 grand. Lot of work for a little money, in my opinion. Think I'll give up on it and send more $$$ to Florida where a relative buys me tickets in their Fan5 game... [ More ]

Good point,justx. Maybe I didn't word it right. Just because you play QP's doesn't mean you're not serious. I suppose it should read, Do you seriously track numbers or are just a QP player? Something to that effect.

From your post, I don't think I can vote. My answer is yes but using birthdays, anniversaries or QPs doesn't mean I'm not serious. I'm practical and don't gamble my rent away, but I never miss a drawing and I want to win just as badly an anyone else.

I also agree with Coin Toss. Many lottery players that will say they are serious about winning and bet their paychecks on PB or MM have gambling addictions, since the odds are so great.

Considering the odds of hitting any lotto game, I don't think there is such a thing as a serious lottery player, just some players willing or able to throw a lot more money at the games than others.

Gamblers have went bankrupt trying to beat casino crap, card, and roulette games where the odds are nothing even close to the astronomical odds on lotto.

High rollers, at the end of the year, are high losers

In my mind a serious player is one who takes their numbers seriously and has some sort of system or method.
