An email lottery scam I just got in my inbox !

These scams started in Nigeria and there are 13 year old kids forced to type and send these messages for very real and dangerous criminals who can and will steal the savings from anyone fool enough to get tangled up with them. After they have your money, they will even send a message claiming to be police in charge of getting your money back for you, but it will cost you to get it released. I think its hilarious ! Quite obviously, the person who composed it does not have English as their native language. The syntax and grammar is very poor. Certainly not the sort of communication I would allow to go out as a business communication. Like it or not, people tend to make judgments based upon written communications they receive. This one is quite lower class.

Yes, a lot of us get these kinds of scams at least once a week and yes some people still

get duped. I think people need to be reminded everyonce in awhile as there are new

scams popping up every day. I for one just go ahead and delete them because I know

I know no one is willing to give me or anybody else anything millions or thousands

free. They also have scams where you can win $500.00 gift card from Walmart,

Yeah.. I know.. that's just terrible. Probably some 13 year old kid in the U.K. scamming people from all over the world making millions.

Don't forget, there is a Report Spam link inside each private message, so reporting something is just one click -- no need to notify me separately! Same goes for blogs -- each one now has a Report Spam link.

Omniscient there's no way you could have won .... they told me I've won!!!

Seriously they're been unusually busy this year ... have received about 10 of that type email through my ISP so far.

Only thing they want is all pertinent personal information and your bank account number so they can make a deposit ........... into their account.

I got it in my yahoo email. I only posted it to let others know as some people actually do get duped into these things. I know better of course, but just trying to let anyone know what methods they use to try and deceive us. Just a FYI, that's all.

Please forgive me, but why do people worry about these kind of emails? They are obvious scams. If I know that I haven't entered any lottery or international game or recieve email from the UK or Nigeria or where ever else, I simply delete them and move on. And try to have them auto blocked ( not easy to do but I try) Now if I start getting emails from the sites I do visit and the scammers find a way to mimic these sites, then I may be a little more trusting. I just got this email in my inbox a little while ago. Looks like a scam as I never entered into a lottery there. If you look down towards the end, it reads ...

Due to mix up of some numbers and names,

we ask that you keep your winning information

confidential until your claims has been processed

and your money remitted to you. This is part of

our security protocol to avoid double claiming

and unwarranted abuse of this program by some

participants.
