He might be thinking about something like off-track betting where we could use our state lottery terminals to play those games in other states. Off-track betting works for race tracks because they don't have cards everyday and some tracks are seasonal.

It might benefit a few players but not enough to benefit individual states.

I think the future of the lottery will be such that the average person won't be able to play it. It wil be a luxury that people will play only when the jackpots are out of this world. Something like going to Atlanctic City for a day of gambling. You really can't do that everyday. I believe that people will protest the computerize games to the point that they will return to the mechanical. Somebody is going to uncover somebody is tampering with the computer program and this will lead to a demand... [ More ]

I hope not, but states are considering making what are now $1 games $2 games- no added prizes ot anything, just doubling the price of the ticket.

With quite a few states considering selling their lottery to private enterprises, I'm afraid this might happen.

Pretty ironic that, in a sense, the lottery operators themselves would go for a cash option , cash now, instead of keeping the cash cows they have, and be willing to turn it over to someone else.

I keep hoping that Idaho will make Pick 3 and Wild Card 2 ball drawings along with our Hot Lotto game, but I don't see it happening. I just think that a lot of states see it as being cheaper to do silly RNG instead of ball drawings. And I hate it. I don't think Powerball and Mega Millions will become computer generated, but I think a lot of Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5 games may be heading in that direction.
