Just read this last post and it reminds me of the time I joined a gym and a couple of weeks later I walked in after work, and the manager was holding a refund check in her hand. Talk about rejection! I guess she thought I was too weak and would get hurt working out. Kicked out of a gym? Wonder if that's a first? Too scrawny to be brawny. LOL

I sell furniture for a living, really really really want to retire.

Good quote. Thank you. I've always agreed with this on a certain level, but the word poor has a much different meaning than it did back then. Life in general was much simpler. I mean, nobody owned a car, a TV set, a computer, or a telephone. Also, the average lifespan was a lot shorter.

Even when this was written, I doubt if anyone ever elected to be hungry or homeless. If someone lives in a modest home, I don't consider that person poor unless he has no money, no food and can't stay warm i... [ More ]

It's true that a good education won't guarantee that you'll be wealthy or successful. However, it opens up more doors. Still, I think attitude, lifestyle and just getting off your butt and doing something to improve your situation are all just as important. I'm saying that from experience. I can't even begin to add up how much of my life I've wasted, not to mention the money I'd have now if I didn't screw up so much.

BTW, I wasn't attacking Pac.

But it is not about one person, it's about people typing a blatant solution to an opinion. Get and education doesn't sound like an opinion to me. One thing that upsets me is when I hear someone say Go get an education like that will make it all right.

Maybe I am taking Pac's story personally. So, for all you young whippersnappers out there, your youth is fleeting and is leaving you.
