			<description><![CDATA[<p>I&#x27;d be more concerned that he understand how to solve problems of this kind.<br /><br />Don&#x27;t let the letters scare you. If x is what you&#x27;re looking for (instead of y or z), it&#x27;s all about isolating x on one side of the equals sign, using simple arithmetic.<br /><br />In the example you gave: divide both sides by y, so you get x-1 = z/y. Then, just add 1 to both sides: x = z/y + 1. Easy peasy.<br /><br />The concept is what&#x27;s important here.
