If you have a serious illness and your immune system has been compromised, then positive thinking, exercise and relaxation techniques might help you to fight off the disease because the mind is closely connected with the body spirit.

If your leg is amputated, however, you can be cheerful positive every moment of every day, but when you wake up, your leg will still be missing.

Does this mean that everyone who gets the flu is miserable? Of course not. Positive thinking means that you wake

And I agree you can't just have a life exactly like you want just because you're always positive (cant be pro athlete, cant be astronaut, cant be jackpot winner, etc), but the odds of these things happening increase when bad things happen and you persevere through them because you were thinking positive

Life is like a wave, there's ups and downs, it's how you react to the downs that helps define how happy you will be overall.

Perhaps it has no effect on... [ More ]

Positive thinking can't hurt, but it must be kept within reality.

No one should clean out a savings account or blow a paycheck on a lottery drawing because they're positive they're going to hit a jackpot.

All the positive thinking in the world isn't going to get someone with limited or no playing abilities a major league baseball contract, for example, or no amount of positive thinking is going to let someone who has never boxed get in the ring with a professional prizefighter and win.

I have to agree with pac on this one.

Several years ago I was in a casino and a slot machine ate a twenty dollar bill of mine and I had to wait quite awhile for someone to come open the machine and give my twenty back.So long that I was starting to get mad. After I got my twenty back,I moved to the next machine. On the second pull I hit doubles on all three wheels for a pretty signifacant progressive jackpot. If I could hit a jackpot every time I'm mad,I'd stay mad all the time

I think that it could go in any direction.

I'm a firm believer in positive thinking, in that your thoughts have a dramatic effect on what you attract in life over time (yet often subtle short-term). I'm sure there's plenty of people who find this to be silly, but to each his own, right?

And just because you believe in positive thinking for a happier lifestyle, doesn't mean it has anything to do with lotto. So what do you believe? Is there a link
