The lotteries always make a very big profit, repeating numbers or not they are going keep on making their big profits.

Now, if repeating numbers were predictable enough, or if they would happen so often that they would become predictable enough, that might be a problem to the state lotteries, not a big problem, but a problem any way.

As to the players, most players don't ever win enough and or often enough, repeating numbers or not, so to them it does not matter any more than any other tim... [ More ]

Thanks but I have not played pick 4 in ages.

Might get back into it with my ev-od / hi-lo system.

Took a shot tonight at some predictions and had 3 of the 4 correct.

In most states, if you get 3 of 4 on pick4, it doesn't pay anything at all.

In p5, 3 of 5 will get you a few bucks and in some places 2 of 5 will even get you a free re-play.

I agree, I have spent the last 2 years running around trying to figure P3 out when I could have spent my efforts on P5. My chances of a win are just the same I.E. 50% I Will Win 50% I Wont Win... lol, no - I just figured since I'm spending this much time and effort I might as well go for a list of unordered numbers rather than trying to figure out if it's going to be straight or boxed... But then again, this could very easily happen again 57 years from now. Looking at it with this perspective doesen't reveal too much bias does it? Nope.

It's all relative.

What's gonna happen when 1-2-3-4-5-6 comes out for the first time? Will there be people jumping out of buildings?....lol

I was figuring 'tea had found something more concrete than just that some pair somewhere in the list was repeating...

As for me, I figured long ago that for the amount of effort that goes into predicting p3, I may as well aim for higher prized games...

Looks pretty typical to me. You can see this in all states over a short-term period if you want to take the time to do so.

Statistics only hold true over long periods where things tend to even out when it comes to numbers. Short-term, you can have anything drawn. The players task is to lessen the odds against him/her in the short term by finding recent patterns in the digits/draws ; then the player still has to guess correctly . You might want to google the Birthday Paradox.

There are 365 days in the year, sort of like there are 220 boxed

Pick-3 numbers.

Any time you have more then 23 people in a room, there is a 50/50

chance two will share the same birth day and month.

With Pick-3's 220 numbers when you select any group of roughly

15 or 16 draws the odds are 50/50 you will find two box numbers

that share the same digits. This percentage improves as the number

of draws goes up.

Are lottery players looking on the wrong end of the charts for what is going to happen.

S.C. had 214 mid and 024 eve today. That is a low/low/low back to back. that does not show in the charts to often.

Probably means random.

With a bunch of predraws prior to drawing and post draw testing also rotation of ball sets etc.

The location of the sun, moon, stars. The daily humidity, inside air temp of drawing room, exact millisecond of the balls bouncing and the location of the ball drawn.

Just pure random.

It is not what should happen but what actualy happens.
