Hey everybody,

Thanks so much for all this information, it was a much bigger respons than I expected! This might shock a few people here.

1. How long have you been buying lottery tickets?

When the lottery came to Tx I bought a few tickets for the first 3 or so months, then I told myself that the lottery must be Fixed and I quit buying them.

Much latter back on 2002 or 2003 I once again became interested on the lottery, but this time on the pick 3 game.

I didn't become interested in buying tickets, but in trying to see if I could learn how to win.

All my information is fake from registering for sites = all fake, to my website = all fake, my e-mail = all fake, and I'm not even sure if I live in NC or VA... But really to be honest - who cares... Lotteries are a cheap form of gambling and entertainment that's been used for centuries to benefit society in general. With yearly sales in the billions, there is an obvious economical affect so it's logical it would be studied and discussed in economy courses and this questionnaire is aimed at the average lottery player.

Off and on since moving to Michigan 20 years ago, but the last few years have been more steady.

Convenience or grocery stores - varies whatever is convenient. Sometimes if I have time, I'll to to a smaller nearby town and buy at some Mom Pop place since they always seem to be the ones with the big winners.

1) I have been playing the lottery less than a year.

2) Since I have noticed that a lot of winners (CA) purchased them in ARCO and 7-eleven stores, thats where I play. (not the same stores). I Also sometimes drive to a particular lucky retailer to purchase tickets.

3) I purchase my tickets at every play, twice a week. I usually buy the soda and chips or popcorn or something. No reason, I just have.

4) I have a lucky gemstones bag that must accompany every lotto purchase. included

Seems to me there was a similar effort about 12-18 months ago; maybe longer. After a few entries, it was determined to be a news group trying to gather free information from, and about this group. It amazes me, that if some one from the Government wants half this information, people go ballistics about losing freedoms. 2. I buy them at various places. I especially like to try my luck out of town.

3. I buy anywhere from $5 to $30, depending on various things. I'm a weekly player. Usually tickets are the only thing I buy; however, if it's a place that sells fast food and I'm needing to grab lunch, I'll usually grab lunch along with a few tickets with the leftover money from the food (or, I have been known to cash in a winner (like $10 or something), buy lunch with it,... Bought Pennsylvania lottery tickets from a co-worker in the early 70s and had tickets in Ohio's Buckeye 300 first drawing. The first online game I played was the Ohio Pick-3 on December 3, 1979; played my license plate number (647), it hit straight the next night, and I've been hooked ever since.

To answer your questions.

1. Since the mid 1970's when I was stationed in Germany. Not a continous thing as after that I was in a few places that didn't have lottery (or have lottery by that time).

2. Anywhere that sells them, not always the same place.

3. $1 to $3 at a time, sometimes the only purchase, sometimes not.

4. Yes. It's a safe bet most people here do. Most gamblers do. (I worked in casinos, trust me here).
