I agree with you 100%. It also cracks me up when I read how some members won't play or only play the lotto until the Jackpot get to $200,000,000. I say, why not play pick 5 with a strategy and try to win $50,000 and up (which in IMHO is more doable) rather then try to play a game with almost no realistic chance of winning if only by a wing and a prayer. I guess to each it's own. I think if you are going to play MM or PB, play less money not more. Playing the take 5 you have a real fighting chanc... [ More ]

Since you mentioned 5/39 and what is most popular, consider:

These are the Illinois Little Lotto (5/39) jackpots since Jan 1 2008:

47 jackpots 38 QP 25 PS

That includes shared jackpots.

So we have 80.8% of the winners having played quick picks and 53.2% of the winners having picked their own numbers.

The QP jackpots are less likely to have been shared jackpots.

Below is a link to a zip file that contains an Excel file for a 5/39 Combos.

The first Tab contains all 575,000 plus combos. Since Excel only has 65,000 rows you will see additional columns.

The remaining Tabs are numbered according to the first number in the combination. There are Tabs for 2Even 3Odd and 3Even 2Odd.

A 5/39 game has 575757 combinations and 184,110 have 3 even and 2 odd numbers and 194,940 combinations have 2 even and 3 odd numbers. Because about 66% off all the combinations have those ratios, about 66% of the drawn combos should too.

You need a wheel generator that allows you to apply filters and Lottery Director has a free download where you can create a wheel for pick-2 to pick-9 games using up to 64 numbers. If you use 5/39, it will generate all the combinations and then you can apply

5/39 3O2E - 194,940 combinations.

Relatively easy to set up a program and print results to a text file, but it wouldn't be easy to read due to the length. Many combinations fit this description. QBasic base code below - you'll have to set up your print command and establish a file for yourself. Then a text editor such as UltraEdit can be used to render the results in a more readable form.

There's gotta be someone that has it in chart form or in excel. I can't do it by hand. I'm trying to work with 4-5 states. It would take me forever. I want to be able to gland at the chart.

I'm hoping someone has a chart or an excel program that will give me even and odd breakdown. I'm looking for all combinations for a 5/39 game and 5/36 game that is 3e 2o and 2e 3o. I want to use this for my Pick 5 selection since this ratio is the most popular. Thanks.
