I'm not knocking winning $500 but I get a little more excited knowing there is slim chance of winning $500,000. When I play $1 straight on a pick-3 number, I put the ticket under the sun visor because I know the number I played and there is nothing to look at. After I see the results that ticket will probably be pitched next time I clean out my car. It's different playing $1 QP on a 10-spot because now I have to check the ticket and there is the possibility I can win something.

I would place the chances of hitting all 10 numbers in between picking all 5 numbers in a 5/39 game and all 6 numbers in 6/49 game. To evaluate which game offers the most for our buck we need to look at the secondary prizes. Matching 9 out of 10 pays $6000 and 5/39 games don't have that payoff without winning the jackpot; matching 8 out 10 pays $400 and matching 4 out of 5 pays $300.

The odds of winning any prize in the 5/39 Rolling Cash 5 game are 1 in 9, but there are only 4 prizes so you'l... [ More ]

I think you hit the nail on the head here. If you FEEL more comfortable playing this game (Pick 10) then you will probably hit it more than the 3 or 4 way. You should always play a game that you like and feel good about as I think that helps you win

For this game you'll find more information researching keno then lotto.

They pay off on zero correct because the odds favor you'll hit at least

one or two or three numbers. Getting none right is less likely.

Gail Howard has some keno wheeling software, never looked into it

because Florida doesn't offer the game. Don't know if LP has keno

wheels.

BobP

Yeah, it sort of reminded me of the procedure you go through to select numbers for a wheel.

So....do you consider winning at this game harder (or as hards) as Pick 3, 4, 5, Mega or whatever?

Cause I'll tell you, I don't care what the stated odds are, I consider the Pick 3 and 4 to be even harder than the Pick 5 games I play.

For the difficulty of picking 3 numbers straight (for example) the payout sucks.. What do you win? A couple of hundred at best? I think thats what you win in NY.

Ten-Oh is a similar game with a different payout schedule; it pays $3 for matching zero and $2 for matching 5 numbers. Trying to match zero numbers is not that easy because you still have to play 10 numbers. I wheel five groups of 5 numbers into 10 combinations and found that collecting $3 is a nice side affect when 2 or more of the groups match zero, but I'd rather match all 5 numbers in two groups and collect a half million.

Most NY Lottery games would fit under the 'funny' heading... I tired playing/tracking this game several years ago - after about a month I had nothing to show nor any idea of what might work or not work so gave up.

Little clarification. I called the NY Lottery office and they explained that you must get 0 right out of ten numbers to win $4. If you even get 1 number right you get nothing.

Funny, a game that pays you for being totally wrong.

Not sure what forum to put this but anyone ever play this game? 80 balls. 20 are picked every night. You get to pick 10 and if they match you win $500,000. If I am reading right, you win $4 even if you match 0 balls. Could that be?

With a quick scan, I did'nt find any other states offering this game. I couldnt find anyone winning recently in NY. But I am curious about the odds.

I am going to try 4 games cause if I'm reading payout info correctly I'll win my money back even if I don't get... [ More ]
