I've looked for methods that consistently matches most of the drawn number and that would be the 3s and 4s in pick-5 games.

Most people would think that if I said I have a system that greatly increases your odds of getting 6/6 on a Pick 6 game , they would also think that the same thing applies to the lower tier prizes(2/6, 3/6, 4/6, and 5/6). However, this does not apply to my system. Well, it does, but not nearly as much as what most people would think. You see, my system uses elimination,... [ More ]

I've looked for methods that consistently matches most of the drawn number and that would be the 3s and 4s in pick-5 games. If the method does that it should occasionally match all five numbers too. The cost of play can vary depending on the method. A system that uses all 39 numbers for play would cost at the least $8, would cost $12 for MM and a system using the best 15 numbers can cost anywhere from $3 to $3000.

I wouldn't realistically expect to consistently get the 3s and 4s wins playing... [ More ]

I agree. Sometimes once is enough..sort of like marriage! LOL If you hit the jackpot, you don't need to develop a Plan B. I only desire to win Lotto once and, depending on the jackpot, Fantasy 5 once, although sometimes several people share and it's only $50,000 or even less. The FL MM jackpot is $1.6M tonight and, although it's not my favorite game, that would be a nice prize!

Do you play your system picks?

I thought one of the reasons for developing a system was to reduce the cost of playing and winning. $5-$10 per drawing should be plenty, after all it only take one line with all the winning numbers to win and you're giving your system 5-10 chances. At least that's what I tell myself as I continue to try and improve my own system. Winning more than once is expecting a lot of a system. Good luck.

What about once every two years or so?

Yes. The problem for me, is the limited amount of money I can put towards winning that first jackpot. I usually only play $5 per drawing, sometimes $10. Getting that first jackpot win would allow me to increase my wager per draw, which means more combinations, which means a better chance of winning. Just give me the first jackpot win and it's all downhill from there.

I was just thinking about this very same thing yesterday. I don't need a huge jackpot, just a jackpot period. With enough accruing interest to live comfortably off of for the rest of my life.

Think about it though, if you only count MM and PB, there are 4 chances of winning each week. Luckily I live in Maryland and work in DC, so I can participate in both lotteries. For this reason, I have a feeling I'm going to hit the jackpot some day.

I agree the 5/6 would be great, but I was responding to the general attitude on the board about what a jackpot is and that's usually at least $1 million. I was thinking of PB and/or MM. I'd be happy splitting it too!

I was only guessing about the 8 or 9 winners, since I think I've read that's the average per year for PB or MM, but... [ More ]

I don't know if it will take 20 years. I hope it doesn't, and really, I don't think it will. I'd say it's a pretty good system, but when we're talking about a game with millions of combinations, luck will still play a role in a jackpot win, system or not. I don't believe in a system that can predict the winning numbers every single drawing, which I don't claim my system to do. I just think that someday, with the aid of my system, as well as some luck, that my numbers will fall. I don't care how... [ More ]

What kind of system is it that you may have to wait 20 years for it to win? In 20 years there will have been plenty of winners with no system who just got lucky with a QP.

Sounds like my system, I'm starting to think even with it I'm going to have to be lucky to win.

Its more of a dream than a goal. And even if it was a goal, I always set the bar high. I agree though that it should be something to have fun with. I used to have the mindset that I would definately win. After 15 years of gambling, its to the point where I really could care less if I won or not. Money means absolutely nothing to me and I think thats one major reason why Im good at poker and betting in general. I feel like I will win huge one day, but if I did, it seriously wouldnt phase me or ch... [ More ]

Coin Toss, I totally agree that people are setting themselves up for disappointment if their goals include winning the lottery. That doesn't mean we shouldn't have fun with it and hope we get really lucky some day. I think I'll probably win Fantasy 5 one day, although the lottery fairy has been really irritating me lately. Right now our economy makes the future of our country look grim, but there's always hope when you have a mind to use, ingenuity, imagination and ambition. * I'm not a religiou... [ More ]

There is a part of me that feels that one day I will win a jackpot of some kind, so I guess I do have a feeling that I will win one day. I don't think there is anything wrong with believing. It gives us hope. If I didn't have hope that one day I might win, I wouldn't even bother playing.

When Ohio started the Buckeye 5 (5/37), I knew I was going to match all 5 numbers and win a $100,000 jackpot because I had some success matching 4 and 5 numbers in the lotto game. I matched many 3's and a few 4's but never won the big one and over time the feeling became more of a hope. The game is now 5/39 with rolling jackpots starting at $100,000.

I believe with a sound playing strategy that can return most of our wagers that will keep us in the game it's possible, but it's still a hope.

Good point. Considering the amount of jackpopts and the number of players, way too many people wind up going their entire life with that feeling unfulfilled. I've read a lot of posts stating I KNOW but the problem is there are only about 8 or 9 jackpots a year and millions of people buying tickets. We can all hope.

A rabbi a priest go to a boxing match together. They watch as each boxer steps into the ring. The rabbi sees one of the boxers cross himself.
