Hey Rexamus, Welcome to LP. Since your program is currently doing N.C., I'll be glad to test it out for you, and see what's missing or what else would be good to have in the program. If I were going to distribute a program I would write it in VB or C#, not Excel, because you can create better stand-along programs that way.

Excel is super-great for rapidly developing apps with tremendous built-in capability of manipulating grids of numbers, but is more limited as far as distribution is concerned.

That kind of decision-making should guide one as to which platform to develop in.

Did you use Visual Basic or Visual C++ to create this?

And why not use Excel? One can write their own code using VBA in Excel.

99% of the time when someone's first post is about software or a system, they will eventually try to sell you something. I would be overjoyed if you were in the 1%.

Well It's main purpose is just to make organizing past results easier and such. It's just for NC Pick 3 right now.

Well the ideas could be endless. Since no one out there has made a program yet to correctly guess the lottery results (gee, wonder why?), the fun is trying to come up with your own ideas that are better than everyone elses!

You'll probably get much more feedback if you start it off in any direction and have more specific questions on what you are trying to do. If everyone here gave you 2 ideas (since everyone's are different), you'd have thousands to go through

My tip for you is to only build the software for the fun of it. Share it for free, with no intention of charging money for it, ever.

The number of people who have built lottery number software thinking that one day they would make money off of it stretches easily into the tens of thousands. If you are copying and pasting to Note Pad, except for editing you have reached its limits. If you want to write a computer program you'll have to learn a computer language.

I've been lurking for a week or so and found this forum to be a big help but I couldnt find a program that did what I wanted it to do so I made one.

It basically just gets the lottery numbers and puts em in notepad for you based on if you just want midday or evening. Its pretty much in the basic stage now but I plan on making it more advanced sooner or later and if any of you have any ideas on what to add just throw em out.
