Losers come up with plenty of reasons why they lost but many winners believe their winnings was a blessing from heaven and say so. Who are you going to believe?

Just buy a quick pick or five and dream, if you're going to win you're going to win, there's nothing supernatural about it. I think that's been proven time after time to be the case.

We know they are going to draw 5 numbers plus a power or mega ball number so there is a real chance one our tickets winning. But when we compare those 5 chances to the 1 in 36.61 or 1 in 40 chance of winning anything and one chance compared to 146 or 175 million possible combinations that real chance of winning... Very true, this is another topic that kind of reminds me of Bruce Almighty. If there's a God and God really did have a sense of humor s/he'd let a thousands win a jackpot at the same time. If there really is a divine intervention on who wins jackpots, why don't we see 50 people split a $100 million or never see a jackpot over $16 million? Does the average person really need to win over $10 million to live comfortably for the rest of their lives no matter how old they are?

I guess to be fair we don't know all the circumstances but still he's a three time convicted felon. Hope his life is straightened out and everything but I have a feeling we'll be hearing from this guy at some point later on. His friends said they cleaned him out playing poker that Friday he won and he went on a beer run or whatever when he bought the ticket. It's very funny and also incredibly egotistical that people actually think something somewhere actually cares about us, watching our every move, doling out good fortune and methodically calculates revenge upon us when we do something wrong. Just googled like crazy to find info on this win. I like reading their stories on their win. But this one kinda has me drawn. He has some convictions yes. Like breaking and entering and stuff. back then i was fuming mad at myself for the rest of that year about losing close to 40 grand it was the biggest mistake i ever made (stop playing your numbers and they will come out.)

You can make a living playing the lottery but few people do. They ARE professional gamblers. They know when to play and when to fold.

I'll agree with the know when to hold and know when to fold, but that in itself hints at professional gamblers being poker players for the most part. There are also those that making a living betting sports, and some that make a living betting the ponies (but they usually have inside information, AHEM!)

There are many LP members that have the gift to picks numbers and can help you.

There may be a few LP members that can pick a winner once in a while but they aren't getting rich doing it and they are going make anyone else rich doing it. I consider monetary wealth something other people have . I have always lived within my means not ever wanting what Joe across the street has. I buy what we need, i pay for what we need, i make sure the bills get paid etc. I consider my self successful in that i have several trades under my belt and can go switch from one trade to another if need be.

I know the feeling but fortunately I'm single and I can keep that foolish feeling to myself. I only play the jackpot games so I have a little time to reflect between games. I may miss a couple of drawings but it's not long before I'm just as sure as I ever was that I can win big and I'm playing again. As long as I keep my loses to less than a couple grands a year, I'm satisfied.

It's not so much guilt as foolishness because i chase the pick 3/4 every draw 365 days a year 2x a day and play Bonus match 5 once in a while and mega mill every draw. Add up the losses versus the wins and if i don't win the pick 4 once or twice a year I'm just playing to be playing not making anywhere near the money i should playing the lottery. Sounds like you're feeling guilty about buying lottery tickets. Don't be surprised if you get a PM or e-mail from someone you don't know who agrees with you that suggests you start spending your lottery money during good by helping others(mainly them). I've never felt guilty about buying lottery tickets and I've gotten such messages.

I think guilt leads to a lot of problems lottery winners have, so don't feel guilty if you win! I could go on a rant but I won't. If it makes to feel better by all means give it away, but I doubt it'd make you feel any better in the long term. Instead of giving 10% to a church that doesn't likely need it, do the donating yourself and without the help of other organizations that will likely pocket 99% of it under the guise of expenses .

I was born and raised a catholic i struggle with my beliefs... while i believe in god his son and the holy ghost. Throughout the years i have been crushed so many times i wondered if it was all his plan or just my own failings.

I am sure he knows the numbers of all the drawings since he is all knowing, but imo, I don't think God goes out of his way to let some people win over others. This subject is too profound to be discussed in a thread. If someone answers NO that means God isn't omnipresent and omnipotent, since He is supposed to be everywhere. If someone answers YES that means God is telling you that it's okay to gamble and that you were chosen because you're more important and worthier than the millions of others who want to win just as badly. It would be easy to prove if religious people would confess they play the lotteries when they didn't win, but the only times I hear/read about God having a plan is after they win. Maybe God have a plan for the losers too, but they're not interested in talking about it.
