I dont think he should have been allowed to play myself..because now he has the funds to take care of his sick ass perversion...it is stories like this that makes me madder than hell to know that good people in every state play and probably never will win..I HOPE AND PRAY that the families of the children he molested takes him to court and sues his ass for as much as they can get

It's hard to stay optimistic about life when you hear about a sexual predator winning the Lotto. Hey, did you hear about the lady who got put in jail because she took a few hacks at a registered sex offender(whom she caught talking with her 13 yo daughter) with a baseball bat? Justice sucks sometimes. He should have never probably been free on the streets and got what he deserved. Sucks that the lady was jailed.

Stack, it would take too long to explain why I feel that Dateline show never should have aired. In short, they used entrapment. Obviously the network wanted to increase ratings. When did the media begin replacing law enforcement? Our laws say that even perverts have the right to a fair trial.

Anyway, the article I read about the subject winner said that he took a plea when charged with having sex with a 13 year old girl. Sounds like more than intent.

At this point I'd still say he's no where near as bad as Daniel Snaycertainly should be open to being sued successfully. But I wouldn'twish him Topous well either. I doubt there's going to be any lawsuit when it comes to the girl (she'd be 21 or 22 now) against Fred Topous from the details in a link to a story in a previous post I made. Now his victims can get the help they need. It is very hard for a child to recover from abuse; especially sexual abuse. If the winner is the good guy that everyone that knows him seems to think he is and he is a church going man, he would not mind at all, paying for the counseling that his victims definitely need.

He's (Fred Topous) also on the Michigan Sex Offender Registry for committing a criminal sexual assault with the intent to commit penetration. He registered in 1999, and is compliant.

I don't think anyone deserves to win the lottery anymore than anyone else. That's sort of the point of it -- that anyone can win it. But as I posted in the news thread, as a victim of sexual assault myself, I can tell you that the idea that the man who assaulted me (or someone like him) could win millions of dollars and be living the kind of live that I will likely never have makes me sick to my stomach. Yes, If I remember the article, it was a plea down from attempted rape. I too think the others are bad (breaking and entering) but some do stupid things from stupid reasons....drugs, paybacks, easy money etc. But this one is the worst. What about the man in MA who won $10 million in February?

Do we know what his crime was? He could have urinated on the sidewalk or exposed himself. He also could have been 22 and had sex with a 16 year old, depending on the laws of the state. He could have crossed the state line with a minor. Where does it say this man is a child molester? This is Lottery Post, not Nancy Grace.

Yeah, it seems Todd is really busy so this hasn't been put up yet. Isent it to him yesterday afternoon... Anyway, yeah we didn't know how old the victim was but now that it's come out (as I expected it would) there are no good feelings toward the guy, there's nothing that can excuse that. He's spent 15 of the last 20 years in prison from three different crimes (he was sentenced at the same time for two of them that were committed two years apart), all three were probably reduced to lesser charge... This is another good reason for lottery winners to form a trust and claim a lottery jackpot in secrecy. Folks who never or will ever know or meet this person will be wasting their time hating him. Some may even blame him for their lack of faith or their house going into foreclosure. I guess if they can't win a lottery, they can get some enjoyment out of hating some one that has.

LANSING, Mich. (June 19) - The winner of last week's $57 million Mega Millions lottery jackpot is a registered sex offender who also pleaded guilty to two breaking and entering charges in the 1980s.

Fred Topous Jr., 45, was discharged from Michigan Department of Corrections supervision in October 2006.
