The test is not to beat the game but to do better than the LP QuickPick RNG when picking lines to play for MM. First test the LP RNG won, in 15 lines my system scored 2+0 twice and the LP RNG scored 2+0 once and a 0+1 for $2. At one time I would have put my system up again any RNG, it may be I've added too many features that are hindering my results.

Honestly, I don't see how a game with 1 in 175,711,536 odds is a valid test of ANY system. There is simply no system or method that is going to make any difference against such odds. I'd hate to see you consider your system invalid because it can't beat a game that it had no chance of beating in the first place.

Now that RC5 jackpot has reset to $100K, I've switched to MegaMillions game. I may make some changes in my program/system and I will be using the LP QuickPick RNG as a control to these my system. If my system doesn't do better than the LP RNG then I will know I'm just wasting my time and money using it.

And what is your RC5 file ?

In another thread I explained how I named my play files. I used RC=Ohio Rolling Cash5, MM=MegaMillions, PB=PowerBall, CL=Ohio Classic Lotto and etc. as part of an eight character name the last six being the date. For example file MM070808 is my MegaMillion play file for last night and RC070908 will be my Rolling Cash5 play file for today.

Your last explanation was right, you may have all 5 winning numbers in a pool of 22 numbers but your odds of matching 5 is still 1:26,334.

I checked the previous 10 drawings for 1222 drawings of RC5 and only 288 had all 5 winning numbers and the pool sizes were 23-34 numbers. One time on 04/07/08 none of the numbers in the previous 10 drawings were in the winning numbers.

I would like find a pool with 20-25 numbers that had all the winning numbers 25% of the time.

I think I get it now (please correct me if I'm still wrong). When it says:

5 out of 5 = 57 draws

It means that out of the pool of 22 (or whatever) numbers it gives you to play, the 5 winning numbers drawn were IN THAT POOL 57 times. It doesn't mean it won the jackpot 57 times... just that it managed to get the 5 winning numbers in the pool of numbers it provides 57 times.

Is that correct

So to make sure I understand... you're saying that program would have won the jackpot (5 out of 5) 57 times? Out of how many total drawings?

And what is your RC5 file ? Obviously I missed a previous episode that explained what that is.

And here is a tidbit of information that you may or may not find useful. For any given 5/39 game (including RC5), 87% of all the winning numbers drawn have had a hit within the past 10 drawings. So going back 10 drawings rather than 6 may be useful.

It's likely today the RC5 jackpot will be won and probably not be this large again for a while so I may play more than ten lines.

Yesterday, I came across a freeware program Lotto Calculator that picked 23 numbers that had three winning numbers which was better than the 27 numbers I picked with three winning numbers. When I tested it, it simply picked numbers from the previous six drawings. With the RC5 file it showed it success in previous drawings as follows:

When picking combinations of 5 for RC5, you can reduce your picks by how you limit the distribution of your numbers. I divided the distributions of all 1230 drawings into 3 areas where 1-13=A, 14-26=B and 27-39=C and there were only 20 distribution patterns and six of them covered 67% of all the drawings.

The pool of 27 numbers I picked yesterday contained all the winning numbers but I did no better than match 2 x 2. Reducing my number pool by 12 and keeping all the winning numbers didn't help.

As of today, Ohio Rolling Cash5(5/39) had 1228 drawings. When I checked the last 1178 drawings I found that 217 of those drawings all 5 winning numbers had hit 4-8 times in the previous 50 drawings which was in groups of 19-34 numbers.

For today drawing a similar group contained 30 numbers so I played 20 lines using those 30 numbers. It turns out only 4 of the winning numbers were in that group and the best I could do with 20 lines was match 2 x 3 times for $3. No one won the jackpot which w... [ More ]
