Bytheshore - I feel EXACTLY the same way about both #1 #2. In Florida they do not post the pre-tests which is a relief. I realize many people who have systems wish they did, but the last thing I want to see is one of the combinations I've been playing for years picked just before a live drawing for $20 million

I keep statistics on winning and losing. That's as close to a log as I will get.

In Excel spreadsheets I keep track of

Wins

How much spent

Play date

Average wins

Average spent.

I use it for both lotto and keno.

since the 200 pages notebook cost 51 cents here where i live in Panama i have like 30 notebooks each one for the different type of lottery all stack up in one of my chest draws...

Sort of i have a data file of all Maryland's numbers and when i get a pick 3/4 box win i mark it blue and when i get a straight win i mark it red. I was keeping a file for bonus match 5 wins but have stopped playing it every day.

My mega million wins are so few it doesn't matter to me to keep a win loss record. And when i win the big one I'll have a cardboard check and the cash for a reminder.

I used to keep a log of numbers played and how much I played and won and lost (mostly lost) on each game. Now I just keep an excel file of each game I play and the amount played and won or lost. I'm always changing or tweaking what I play and the amount so I like to keep track of where my $ goes. Also, if I win (big) I have a written file for taxes and I keep my old tickets.

Yes I do. I pick my combinations using my computer so I name and save each file/set so they're easy to locate later. I use eight characters, the first two identifies the game, RC=Rolling Cash5, CL=Classic Lotto. MM=MegaMillions, PB=PowerBall and the other six represents the date.

For example if I play MegaMillions tomorrow night the file name would be MM070808 which codes MegaMillion for July 08,2008. In a calendar book I would also write that name, the amount wagered , the amount won and add... [ More ]

I don't keep a log.But I do keep all of my losing lottery tickets in case I get a sizable win and need proof that I have gambling losses.

You can only deduct the amount you've lost up to the amount you've won. Some members here say they don't keep a daily log, but do that anyway if they win over $600 and have to claim it as income. I know it's unlikely, but let's say you do get audited, what about several times a person wins $100... [ More ]

No, I don't bother. However, for income tax purposes, it's not a bad idea to keep a log.
