Hey Tex~

Its a nice boxed wheeling system but having all 3 numbers within your selection of 5 numbers does not constitute a single 50/50 chance, (if I understand you correctly) you have a 50/50 chance of having each number drawn from your selection, ie: 50/50 chance for the first digit, 50/50 chance for the second, 50/50 for the third, hence....2 x 2 x 2 = 1 chance in 8, the results youve gotten support this

I've been tracking different states for doubles tripples (when they show up, instant lost), so far New Mexico has a nice singles. The only thing I need to guess on is getting the 3 numbers out of 5, been having a lot of bad luck lately. Trying again tomorrow.

Having a 6% random chance in all 100 drawings is the same as having 8.3% in the around 72 of those 100 drawings that will have no matching digits. By boxing 5 different digits in every drawing, it's a given you can't win all the next 100 drawings so the only necessary percentage is how many of the around 72 drawings you need to win to show a profit and that number is 13.

For anyone who wants to question the math, statistics, or whatever with this method, let me give you some cold hard facts. In the last 9 days, using this method, I have spent a total of $90 (I only play box), and have won a total of $320 for a profit of $230. However, if I would have played box/straight, I would have spent a total of $180 and won $1320 for a total profit of $1140. How's that for simple math

I disagree, the 8.3% chance will only apply when you're certain that there'll be no repeats.

But how will you know that? By tracking doubles? Surely you could find better ways of profitting from that

What Tex has is a simple 5 digit box and chart showing how to create the 10 combinations. That bet would be easier to make if the lottery machines used the same type of programs they use for horse and dog racing trifectas. Some state lotteries have self-bet machines where you can enter money or a voucher, but I haven't seen any that offer the option of boxing four or more digits without having to enter each combination individually.

Wauw Tex, if that math of yours is correct you might just have found the holy grail of Pick 3... Unfortunately it's not!

Say you perm the 5 selected numbers, you then get 10 lines @ $1 each.

If you play these lines for 100 games, you'll spent $1000, right?

The first number drawn will have a 50% (5 out of 10) chance of being correct.

The second number drawn will have a 40% (4 out of 10) chance of being correct and not a repeat.

Congrats! What seems to work the best for me after a hit is to just replace 1 or 2 of the numbers in your wheel that hit and keep the rest. Good luck

Wow....every once in a while you just get tired of thinking about what numbers to play. Tonight, I got a deck of cards and drew 5 different numbers to play (total of $10 investment when wheeled), and got a box hit!!! $70 profit gives me a little wiggle room to try this out a little more

I usually select the five numbers randomly and then play them until they hit. If I go five or six draws without a hit, I change them up. If I have a gut feel for a number I will throw it in of course.

The more numbers in play, the greater number of sets one has to play to cover all the bases, so to speak.

This is a nice wheel, The key of any big win is to bet bigger on pick 3, so save your money, work this systems with other systems and you will get some nice wins,

May take 30 days before you set that series of bets, though,

pick a pair and play it!

Thanks for sharing your method, sure wheeling give us a bit edge, now i have a different method wheeling 10 numbers to cover ALL:

this is my method iam testing now:

take any state and wheel all the 10 digits but in a set of pairs, like this:

01 - 23- 45- 67- 89

now these five pairs each wheeled with ALL

eg:01 012- 013 -014 -015- 016 -017- 018- 019 (8 wheels excluding doubles and triples)

here excluding 010 and 011

so each pair wheeled 8 times= 5 pairs x 8

Yeah, in the end it all comes down to luck. I'm experimenting with some backtesting to see how the results come out if I were to populate my wheel with the top 5 hit digits over the previous 20 draws, 30 draws, 50 draws, and so on. Maybe it's even best just to pick five good digits and play them every draw with the wheel.

I did this a couple years ago when I played ALOT of $ on P3. About the best I could do was almost..... break even. I tried BobP's double strategy that you can find on Lotto Logix, and I tried what you described. Wheeling 5 numbers seems like it's an almost sure thing, but I never could hit once in eight draws. I always ended up in the red. I guess if you are really good at picking the right 5 numbers to wheel, you can come out ahead, but I decided it was too much work for too little... [ More ]

Okay, pick 3 players, here is my method to effectively beating the odds at pick 3.

First some info:

This method is for BOX hits only.

We know that out of the 1000 possible combinations for pick 3 720 of them are singles (72%).

If you look at the results for your state you will see that over the long run singles are drawn pretty close to that percentage. Here's the percentages of drawings for Texas over the last year that were singles:

day draw = 75.2%

night draw = 69.5%
