2? Only 2? NO, NO, NO! You play the Jackpot - 1. That way if the jackpot is 401,000,000 and you play 400 tickets with the same numbers and 1 other ticket wins then you get $400,000,000 and they get $1,000,000.

Clearly that is the way to go

someone here actually did this and won. they where playing a syndicate for work and had a few spare bucks left over so she played the 1st few numbers again. i cant recall if there was anyone else sharing the pot , but the syndicate did have 2 shares of it.

edit,, yeah id buy a few copies of the same numbers if i knew what the numbers where going to be. id buy say 10 copies then, no need to share if; some how, you knew the result.

IF I win the jackpot, and I have to share it, I share it.

No REAL sense in buying 2 tickets of the same - the odds are high enough just to win it, let alone doubling your expenditure.

I think I'd rather buy a ticket with slightly different number(s) - and doubling my chances of winning in the first place.

This is ALMOST the same as arguing over playing the multiplier - or not.

For all those worried about splitting a jackpot with one or more others, here's what you do, play your tickets twice, that is play the same numbers two times.

That way, if you do hit, if no one else hit, there will be two winners, you, and you!, or if somene or a few people hit along with you, you'll have to split, but hey, you'll get two shares.
