In any event, having lots of money wouldn't lead you any closer to inventing the time machine. If money was the stumbling block to date, some filthy rich dude would have invented it by now. It takes intellect to invent something like that, not large amounts of money.

Going back in time is basically science fiction. If you could go back in time you couldn't alter it in any way if you did and were lucky enough to return to the present time you most likely would have altered everything that existed... it is possible that everything that was here before you left would be gone. Your house might not be in the same place certain people that were living before you left might be dead in the present.

Prophesies are vague so they can generally be applied to many events and fit perfectly or at least close to it. The end of times and second coming have been upon us now for centuries.

Technically going to the future would be possible but not in the usual Sci-Fi sense.
