Hi I just received a 60day trial version of Excel and I was wondering if it's possible to use it, to find patterns in numbers?

I don't know much about Excel (okay nothing) but wanted to try it this way, instead of my paper and pencil method, but can't figure out how to do it.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
