What I need from the lottery(P3)--for the numbers to line up just right vertivcally to pull a straight with some pepper on it

What I want from the lottery(p3)--I keep my needs small so an extra 2000-2500 tax free cash would be ideal and is very doable eventually.Will I end up in a shelter if I can't get this? hell no...as someone said earlier,it is a hobby

A bit off the subject but congratulations on having just $65k left on your mortgage. Kinda nice in these trying times to even dream of something like that, let alone winning the lottery. Give it about 3 three years, it will turn around.

Needed from lottery : $0

WANTED from lottery : any powerball jackpot, from base amount to hundreds of millions. Would also be happy with a 5+0 prize.

Heck, I am thrilled to just match the red ball once in awhile :-)

But I know I want millions so I no longer toy with the dailies or lower prize games in PA like cash5 or match6... it's PB only for me.

Not a true need since I do have enough money to handle it otherwise, but I'd put as top priority $65,000 to pay off my mortgage.

I'd expected to be able to sell this big house by now and downsize in my retirement, buying a smaller house and paying cash in full. But with the housing market as it is, I haven't even bothered to put the house on the market. I expect it will probably be a couple more years before there is enough action in the real estate market in this tourist location to make it... [ More ]

I consider a *need* to be an individual perspective. Some folks absolutely NEED medication that is outrageously priced. So given some scenarios I think 100k would be the need level to create the level of care needed for a family member.

And a person can win on a dollar ticket as well as a ten dollar investment. It only takes that one line to pay out

Any of the above amounts would be a nice windfall but if my quality of life depends on lottery winnings, I'd be in a sad state of affairs. Last night I wanted to win $500,000 in one game and/or $5400 in another, but had I needed the 7 bucks I spent on the lottery for supper, I would have went to bed hungry.

Right now I need about $50K. Why? I'm about to start graduate school, an 18 month MBA program. I will need about that much to pay for tuition AND live while I study (I won't be working, so I may finish this faster). So $50K should cover tuition, books, and my living expenses for 18 months.

In that case, I actually don't NEED any amount from the list. Because of the credit decline, I paid off everything ahead of time so I don't have any outstanding bills. BUT I still don't have a decent job so the amounts on the list won't help me much. I could just keep working till some better comes along. I could do for $100k but thats actually a want.
