Do you consider a push as a win?

I am actually shocked that many of you do consider a push as a win. Maybe the blog guy wasn't as far off the mark as I thought. I do agree with MysteryMan. A lot of players must have extremely low expectations with these games if their happy to just break even.

Badger, I see your point with the 3 ticket scenario. hmmm

If someone considers a push a win after buying scratch offs then they must have had terrible expectations going in. It's as if they were resigned to having foolishily pissed thier money away and are simply grateful for getting it back.That's exactly how I used to feel when I bought those stupid things. I once bought 50 dollars in scratchers and got back 45.oo, and thought all this aggravation to lose 5 bucks. Now I just pick a three digit double number and bet it combo for ten tickets for a shot... No, its not a win, because as you say, there's no profit.

OTOH suppose you bought 3 two-dollar tickets and you hit one for a $5 prize. Would you consider that as a win? Again, there's no profit because you spent 6 bucks. But on that one ticket, you made a $3 profit.

I don't consider it a win because you don't profit but I'm glad when I get my money back. You could have lost all together. You get another chance.

Like when I play several states and put the big hit money in the state that didn't hit but had it in a combo in the state that did. So you win because you don't lose.

A push in the lottery shouldn't be legal. It only looks like you get a better odd to Win oh did I say win, I see a win as more then I invested not a Push. What really is the odds of Winning if you take away the Pushes

It's only a win in that it isn't a loss. (it makes sense only in the most fundamental way.)

In any case, maybe the it's a win mindset is the best one to have since it seems as though the majority of scratch-offs recently happen to be break-evens.

No.But the state of Iowa does.At least they did away with free ticket wins a few years ago.

No, not really. I look at it like I won the same amount that I spent, but I didn't win more then I spent so it wasn't a true win.

I was reading one of the state lottery blogs and I saw where the guy that runs the blog said most people consider a push (get your money back) as a win. I was thinking maybe in his world. I want to see if you consider it a win. I, for one, do not consider a push a win, if there is no profit what did you win? I think if they showed you the odds of tickets that actually made money vs. getting your money back it would scare off most players.
