People couldn't wait for California to join MM- with the promise of $500,000,000 jackpots, which hasn't happened yet, not even close.

The only people I can understand getting excited about any state joining PB or MM is a state that has no lottery at all, and that's only the people in that state.

On January 4th they are changing the PB matrix to 59 white balls and 39 red balls.

I don't remember exactly but I do recall that the new odds are going to be one in about 195 million!

The thing is that, even with adding Florida, Powerball is still going to have a lot less potential customers than MegaMillions so that big of a change in the matrix is just nuts.

What's the new matrix change for the PowerBall? it already has a bunch of numbers too select from (55) plus the red ball from a pool of 42 are they trying too keep players from winning

Arkansas would actually be very wise to join MM. All but one of the states bordering AR have Powerball. Thus, Mega Millions would make a whole lot more money for Arkansas with all the people jumping from their state to AR.

I think that MM may campaign to get Arkansas. That way, they will have an excuse to raise their matrix the way PB did after Florida joined.

Possibly though I think Arkansas is still a ways away from getting their own lottery set up, let alone joining one of the big two. It would probably be in their best interest to stay out of either game for awhile seeing what they do to the state run games.

we all know that arkansas is about to get a lottery.they are bordered by tennessee with powerball,missouri with powerball,oklahoma with powerball so i'm wondering with the official matrix change in '09 with florida joining powerball that arkansas would join mega millions and then its matrix changes? something to ponder.....
