Tonight I won nothing. When that happens, I have a different reaction than when I win a few dollars or even a Free Play. Sometimes I think it's worse to get very close even though you win more money. That's one of the only reasons I might prefer a Quick Pick to my own numbers, because I don't have that if I only spent one more dollar I would have won feeling when I'm one number off.

Ah, yes, if truth be told -- when I check my tickets and lose, I am guilty of sometimes saying, why do I play this game!

Now, my new playing stragegy for the 2009 New Year is this:

1. Since POWERBALL has the odds of a person winning as 1 in 146,107,962 and...

2. HOT LOTTO has the odds of a person winning as 1 in 10,939,383 - then my purchases are more toward HOT LOTTO with the Sizzler option.

Mine is along the lines of dammit, I didn't win *sigh* I hope no one else did because then there's the next drawing with the even bigger jackpot and the dream lives! If someone wins it depends on how big the jackpot was and where the winner was located as to how I react.

QP, My numbers, makes no difference, zilch!

I did win 75 a couple months ago and in total iv'e won about 110 playing 6 tickets a week for 7 years and always different numbers and I understand why some winners never claim their prize, because they are so used to loosing every week for years so on some occasions they don't even bother to check their ticket then they forget all about it.

I picked it'll be my turn one day

I know the odds may be against me, but since I play the same set, I feel that they may hit. The numbers have hit in patterns of 3 and 2s many times so i think one of these days one of my patterns will hit as a 5. I truly feel that. But I noticed that I don't always immediately check my ticket as soon as I wake up the next morning, like I used to. I hope it doesn't mean that I am subconsciously feeling that it will not happen. NOT good.

I either watch the live drawing or check the lottery website whether I played or not. I record the results in my computer data files, check my play files if I played and highlight the hits on my tickets. Losers are stored with all the other ones for tax purpose and the winners are placed into my play slip folder to be cashed in the next time I play. Since I use a computer program that uses draw history to help me make my picks, I like to keep my data files up to date.

My first thought is Darn, not this time! followed immediately by It'll be my turn one day!

My luck has been fairly decent lately, winning several hundred from some scratch games and getting at least a couple bucks off every MM and Lotto47 draw this month. just last night I hit 3 of 6 two different times for the Lotto47 draw - which is more than the next MM draw (The once or twice per year that happens!).

Though my usual first thought may be Darn, not this time, as we approached Christmas with a high MM jackpot my thought was Shucks, my Christmas phone calls to my relatives won't include the excited words 'we won.' (I've gifted a small share of any MM ticket purchased to a large number of relatives.

I picked the Pick 3. I did pretty well at pick 3 a few years ago, but I can't retire on pick 3. I could have chosen a few more answers on the poll. But like fja I still have to go to work, and right now......I can barely stand the sight of furniture and the store manager.

There are 3 I could have checked, but I picked the QP / my numbers answer.

I don't think it really makes a difference. I buy both and a loser is a loser.

What do I do when I check my numbers and don't win a thing, not even a Free Ticket? (like a few minutes ago when I checked my Sat night Lotto Fantasy 5 tickets) I let out a big sigh. No colorful Mrs. Blago words.
