A game can always be made whereby a simple pick 6 with lower odds (such as 6/42) plays ONLY when its jackpot is over $20 million.

This way the people aren't punished by making their terrible odds worse.

The only thing is that there may be as many as 5 or 10 winners sometimes, but that would be just wonderful these days. I would rather see 5 winners than NO winners.

This is another suggestion that you can all email your political representatives. They are the law-makers.

When ask people what they want and the people say bigger jackpots , the lottery commission doesn't tell them, We will have to decrease the odds in order to get bigger jackpots. If the lottery commision told the public that, they would probably be against the bigger jackpots.

Of course the people want bigger jackpots. But people aren't told there is a cost to that.

No matter how many numbers they increase it too the game will still have winners based on the odds 196 million people playing or less is enough too produce a winning ticket somewhere in the U.S. where the game is played

I agree. This matrix change is only to fill their pockets with more money, which I am sure they will. Yes I do know that they are in the business to make money, so I understand why they see this as a good decision for them, but for us players I think it's a horrible move.

That is one of the reasons local state lotteries lose out. All of them have better odds of winning the jackpot, but worst odds of winning the lowest tier prizes and after weeks of winning nothing playing them most players are happier playing the multi-games and winning a couple of bucks once in a while.

I guess one question would be, are they going to increase players or buys per player? My guess is the result will be more players and less buys per player. I am sure they have done the calculus on this to get the best $ return, all I know is that I don't like it.

I posed this question to the folks at MUSL several months ago when they first announced that they were moving to Florida and would change the matrix.Their answer was that people have been asking for bigger jackpots and changing the matrix would allow bigger jackpots.They know that most people will continue to play if there is any chance at all of winning a mind blowing jackpot.They also know that the higher the jackpot is the more tickets they will sell.

I used to buy 5, 10, 20 tickets at a time when the PB first came to TN at about 125m:1. Then they raised the odds to 146m:1 so now I only buy 2,5 tickets at a time. Now they are going to raise the odds to 196m:1? What's my motivation to spend more than a buck on this insanity? My odds are effective zero not matter what I spend at this point. I will probably buy 1 ticket just to be in the game and if the game gets over a hundred million I will bump up to 2-5, but I can see people being turned off... [ More ]
