How about ......... we don't use any digit 7's or 0's in first postion for awhile. That knocks out about 200 straights to start with.

How about .........we don't use any ODD digits in middle postion . That takes out about another 500 straights.

Good start huh .... keep it going.

Anyone got more ideas as to how we can keep cutting them down....? Jump in ....
