Since last Friday Nov 12th, I've won 7 FP's, and I only spent $35.00 to do it. Because I hit for $24.00 on 11/13, I'm only down 4 bucks!

On Nov 15th, my son played $20 of Take5 and he won 4 FP's, which he gave to me because he had to leave for Seattle shortly afterwards.

So tomorrow, I'm gonna play $11.00's in FP's in addition to however much else I decide to plunk down. Maybe I'll take that big bag of empty bottles that's out in the garage to the store and cash 'em in too!

On one line of my ticket, I had 2 9 20 22 33, so I won a free play, but I'm real tired of the one-off's I always seem to get. Had that 22 been 23 and the 33 been 34, I'd have hit second place for $414.00.

Interestingly enough, that ticket had 5 QP's on it, which I rarely buy. I had to take someone to LaGuardia Airport yesterday. I saw a gas station in Queens that sold lottery tickets, so I ran in fast and bought a 5 dollar QP to get the bonus FP.

I've money won 3 times in the last two months. I had 3 numbers on 9/17, 11/5 and 11/13. Total won was $70, but I spent $128.00 to get that $70.

FP's was a whole different story. I got one on 10/22 and then didnt get one again until 11/12.

Last nites Take5 numbers were interesting.

8 30 32 38 39 Definitely not numbers I'd be inclined to pick. The 38 repeated, 39 tripled, the odd/even mix was 4/1, the sum was 147, and the group distribution was 1-0-4.

I decided to pick 3 of the 5 numbers and let the machine pick the other 2. I was picking only 1 and letting the machine pick the other 4, but I was getting some really wierd looking lines, so I upped it to me picking 3.

I was doing my usual thing, playing 2 bucks one day, maybe three bucks the next day etc. How many games I played was usually dependent upon how many dollar bills I had in my pocket. To date, there's been 14 consecutive Take5 drawings where a single digit number was the lowest number drawn. I would think that run will probably end soon.

For the last few days I've been playing numbers 10, 11, 12 13 as my lowest number. I followed that up with a number from the mid to upper teens, and then a number from the mid twenties depending upon how hot or cold they were.

Since I've been completely wrong using this strategy, I'm thinking I'll sit it out until the streak of singles... [ More ]

I just saw that three winners in the same store in Brooklyn too... That's the third time in a couple of months it's happened in the NYC area.

Ok......it happened again last night where someone bought the same set of numbers at the same store three times, and they won. I'm going to try that tonight. I am going to play one of my normal sets an extra 2x's and see what happens. I guess it couldn't hurt.

I went back and checked to see what I've won in the last year because it doesn't seem like I'm doing to good with these sets of numbers. So, for the past year:

Is it just me, or does anyone else think the Take5 numbers have been running very atypical lately?

For instance last Saturday saw 5 even numbers drawn, while Sunday saw 5 odd.

Even last nite seems to me to be a little less like what is typically drawn (4 odd/1 even, and no number in the twenties). Speaking of numbers in the twenties, 26, 27 28, have been out for at least 26 days.

Last night i went to one of those stores around my neighborhood that sells cards, toys and other stuff to buy one single take 5 quick pick with four quarters. When i asked for the quick pick the store clerk held the four quarters in his hands and he asked me if i just wanted to buy 1 single quick pick. Your explanation about the take five wins makes a lot of sense. When it comes to mega millions you can win $250k regardless of the jackpot size, the same goes for powerball. I have a relative that won a Take5 JP last year, and they didnt want any publicity, so they refused to have their picture taken and put up on the Lottery's website. My guess is whomever won Take5 last night wont want any publicity either.

I thought about it, and I now know why the person that won the JP played those numbers 5 times. He defeated the pari-mutual division of a first place prize.

The NY Lottery's website shows 7 first place winners of $11,493.50 each. But in actuality there were only 3 winners. (Assuming it was only one person who played the same set of 5 numbers 5 times.)

Had the 5 time winner bought only one set of five, he'd have collected $26,818.17 $11,493.50 X 7 = $80,454.50, which is the total JP amount... [ More ]

Call me stupid, but I dont get it. Why would anyone buy the same set of lines five times? I dont see the point of doing it. But it obviously made sense to somebody. Since they were self picks, my guess is they played all five sets of numbers on the same bet slip. But maybe not... maybe they played the winning numbers on 5 different slips because they bought a very large number of lines. I dunno... cant figure it.

Group dist on the first one is 3-1-1 with 3/2 odd even split. (48,354 possible combo's in that group, not too bad, but there are better group distributions than 3-1-1) But 18 will have to triple up tonite for that sucker to be a winner. I dont like the sequential in the set either. There's been a lot of those very recently, I doubt there will be another one drawn tonite.

Thanks to a great LP member, Winsomelosesum, I finally got my hands on a spreadsheet that depicts the number of possible combinations for all of the three groups of 13 numbers for Take5.

I'm noy saying that you'll win a JP using groups, but they are important. There are a few things that jumped right off the spreadsheet at me. For instance;

I'm in Dutchess County and there arent too many winners sold here either.

What seems odd about that is that NYC is only an hour and half's drive and there are thousands of commuters living here. The MTA trains are full of people, and the major highways leading to NYC have very heavy traffic twice a day. Of course if commuters buy their tickets in NYC, the winner would be shown as being sold in NYC.

But what's really weird is 5 even numbers with a 221 group distribution. There's only about 1,350 five number combo's with 5 even and 221 distribution. If someone wins the JP, most likely it'll be a QP.

Saturday December 11th At 11:21 pm is the date and time that the 5,000th Take5 drawing will be held.

Nobody cares about that either, but I still find it interesting

I managed to get a crummy FP

I had 1 4 18 25 36...

The rest of the numbers on all other lines on the ticket stunk up the joint!

Last nights numbers were weird...1 odd, 4 even with a 131 group distribution. With that mix, there's only about 4700 possible combinations of 5 numbers that could have won a JP.

What's bugging me is no double single for 10 straight draws. Usually see one every 3 or 4 draws....

The USLotteries website says there have been 3991 drawings of Take5.

BUT! Just as I thought, that's as far back as they display winnng numbers. Had I dug a little deeper here on LP I'd have seen this: There have been 4,924 New York Take 5 drawings since January 17, 1992.

What's really wild about that for me personally is this: I cant believe it was 1992 when I worked with those guys

According to the USLotteries' website, it was Friday January 1st, 1999. But I think that date is probably only as far back as USLotteries display's winning numbers.

I recall Take5 started before that. New York ended the CASH40 game and replaced it with Take5. I easily remember that because I used to like CASH40. Hey! I went down to my local slop shop to get me some fudge brownie ala mode ice cream and some Take5, and what do I see? I see they're monkeyin with the tickets again!

It aint pink no more!!! It's white! Got a red stripe goin down the left hand side with the lottery website URL. The back looks the same. If ya was to ask me, which they didnt, I'd say these new tickets is UGLY!!!

Course, if it's a JP winner, maybe it aint so ugly after all.

You're welcome,GiveFive :) Since 1992 there have been over 6,000 draws for Fantasy 5 here in CA.

It's not only the 5 number dupes that are calculated but also the 4 spots and 3 spots. It was pretty eye opening to me when I used to have that program. One of these days I'll break down and buy it again.

Thank you! Would you know how many Cali Fantasy 5 drawings there have been? I'm asking because there have been 3,985 Take5 drawings to date. (In about an hour from now, there will have been 3,986!) Could it be that Cali Fantasy 5 has had many more drawings than NY's Take5? If so, that would explain why there were quite a few dupes.

To be honest, while I'm sure the database on Gail Howard's CD is beyond repute, I dont wanna know that badly that I'd pay for Gail's software just to find o... [ More ]
