Unforunately the powerball rules make this an almost impossibility. Once a new record high is reached the jackpot will only increase by a set amount per each drawing. I am not sure of the exact numbers, butthe new record(for Powerball) is around $390 million and then a set increase of about $20 million each drawing with the breakage being divvied up among the second tier winners. A few more things.

12. Play sober for serious money and once you are drunk, goof around at small stakes.

13. I always play for serious money alone. I may come with 2-3 friends, and goof around with them at small stakes, but when I want to make some money, I play alone without distractions at the table I choose, and the game I choose, with 100% focus and 100% sober. Friends make you do stupid things, and while that may lead to great stories out in the world, it usually leads to bad stories

It's about sales they/each state make lots of money off of the losing tickets. Which is distributed to whichever fund the money is allocated to.

The higher the pot gets the more money they make on sales. It's a win win for them.

The only other country I would consider outside of the USA MIGHT be Switzerland. I'm referring to places I would not mind applying for citizenship.

Aside from that, there are some small islands in the South Pacific I would hang a hammock on if I could... a few months out of the year.

By the way, I agree about living in the USA, although I'm sure there are plenty of other safe countries in which to reside. However, I used to travel quite a lot and it was always nice to come back. No matter how bad things get here, it's still a great country and it's my home.

IOW, the interest is generally not high, until the pot is a little bit big, and then the interest in it is suddenly widespread and kills the pot.

I think having a more enormous jackpot was not even near being an objective of the lottery gods/goddesses when it comes to the recent powerball remodeling, it was just an imagination of many of us.

I agree with four4me. I can't see any jackpot exceeding $500 million.

My answer is..... if any lottery game kept rolling until it reached $1 billion, it would only prove to me even more that the chances of winning are very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very slim.

I don't think it would be necessary to leave the country. I've disappeared before and it's really easy.

Here's the thing with big jackpots once they get to the 300 million dollar range people who never bought a ticket before buy at least one ticket, people who usually play every draw buys more tickets and casual lottery players buy more tickets, people line up at machines across the country to buy tickets from dawn till dusk every day until the pot is won.

Even with the new powerball matrix i doubt if a pot will ever grow above 500 million.

good point, but they could prolly buy 50 million easy picks from 4 states for a total of $200Meg.

But I do doubt it, the more I think about it, unless the pot does reach a record amount like 7 or 8 hundred million.

So many different things could happen.

If just 20 million people in the U.S. would just buy 10 easy picks every draw, there's an excellent chance of having a winner every time.

I don't think that will ever happen because back in the nineties after an European investment group won the Virgina lottery by trying to buy all 12 million combinations and controlling 3 lottery terminals for three days, states changed their rules so it was unlikely to ever happen again. I doubt if anyone or group could play 200 millions specific lines in four days.

the odds are approximately 1 in 200 million, so a pool trust or anyone wealthy could simply buy all 200 million chances, and possibly win 400 million or split it with someone and win the 200 back.

I don't know if there is a cap on how big the powerball can get. BUT with the addition of Florida, the powerball is going to grow faster and bigger. We all said what we would do with a million dollar win but what if.........a billion could be won.
