			<description><![CDATA[<p>Did you ever do your taxes and have to find a chart for your age to find out how much you owed? Tax brackets are the same regardless of age. OTOH, if somebody has a good job they may well be in a higher bracket than someone who&#x27;s retired. If you won a few grand the taxes might be lower if you let somebody else claim it for you. 			<description><![CDATA[<p>I&#x27;m not so sure the tax tables are the same for someone over 65 (and retired) as they are for someone under 65 (and not retired), I don&#x27;t remember the details of the conversations, but years&#x27; ago folks said &#x27;if I win the lottery I will have my (retired) mom collect the winnings because her taxes would be 1/4th of what mine would be&#x27;, etc.</p>]]></description>

She can also give away up to a million in her lifetime with paying gift tax. Still, I was surprised to see an 81 year old claiming a lottery prize. I guess I shouldn&#x27;t say that, since I know people in their 80s who buy tickets all the time.
