They seem pretty much in line with the top populated states (new york, cali, tx)...But I bet they have the highest number of people who fall within the age market that is most likely to buy lottery tickets...Chart below is approx as of today.

Maybe Florida uses an RNG that is more Player Friendly than the RNG used in other PB States!

I am doubting what is going on.

The first week Powerball was available in Florida, the amount of ticket sales broke PB records.

It is also the largest PB state. If you check the US Census Bureau, the four most populous states in the country are California, Texas, New York and Florida is a close 4th. Florida has a lot more people this time of year too because of tourism and also snowbirds, those who live here in the winter. There are areas I've lived in where the population doubles... [ More ]

You could be on to something. But since Florida is now the #1 selling Powerball state could it be possible that Florida has sold 25% of the Powerball tickets during that time frame? Anyone care to run the numbers? I'm too lazy and tired to do it tonight.

Powerball was introduced to Florida since January, and the new game rule was also introduced.

Start from the drawing on Jan 7th to Feb 21st, there are totally 14 draws and 65 tickets that win the match-5 prize (including a jackpot winner).

Out of the 14 draws, we have tickets from Florida that win the match-5 prize in 10 draws (71.43%).

Out of the 65 winning tickets, we have 16 that are from Florida (24.62%), 4 with Power Play.
