I'll tell you something else that I find a little wierd. When the Scientific Games machines were delivered in Oklahoma, they all came with a scoreboard type sign that stuck out of the top of the machine on a pole which was an LED display showing the customer A). The amount of their purchase, or B). The amount they won. About 6 months later they came along and took them all down. For the states that use Scientific Games machines, they already play a Congratulations, You're a Winner audible sound when a winner is scanned. The problem is that most states turn it down because of all the noise if it is a busy store.

In Texas they have devised a way to make the lottery terminal play an audible sound when a scratch off or on-line ticket is scanned for validation or inquiry.
