For MegaMillions, I would refine my search just back to 06/24/2005 when the matrix was last changed. The number 2 and other numbers lower than 53 came up more frequent before the last four numbers were added.

I also checked my MM file stats against LP statistics and mine were different due to some errors in my file. I've since checked other website MM files and corrected mine. When you are dealing with history, you want everything to be as correct as possible and try to remove any variables... [ More ]

Your issue could be perfectly sloved by digital wheels.Using all 32 numbers for 6/49 lotteries, and guanarate a 5 match in 64 lines with 7 numbers.

I have so far kept the wheel secretly and see if there is a chance to be put on LP some time after some better arrangement for selecting numbers.

Investment is still a problem though.

Hans

LOL one of the few good things about Illinois.

I do like your idea of keeping records of the past draws in a file. As I continue to get ideas I have more of a need to search farther back into the game. As far as picking numbers to play I'm only interested in the last 15-20 games.

I can understand with a game like Mega wanting to have as much past history as possible LOL that's a whole different ball game

ca-dreamin,

You're lucky Illinois lottery maintain records of all their drawing at the website, Ohio only keep the last six months or the length of time a ticket is still good. If I didn't keep my own records, I would have no way of going back and building them up from information on their website. At least if you ever decide go back and reconstruct records from a year or two back, the information is there.

Hey RJOH,

I was keeping charts on Little Lotto as well as Lotto and MM but I stopped around June of last year. I've just recently started tracking numbers again but this time only for Little lotto and they only go back a few months. I realized that in trying to find patterns within patterns I need to go back more than just a few months.

As for previous drawings....I always go to the Illinois Lottery website and print out what I need. But is you go to the Winning Number section you can get a text file by year or month with all the winning numbers together (like below). Copy it to notepad. To have all the same games together in the file, sort the lines(records) by the game names.

I try to work with patterns and odds. For example, in Tx 2 Step on Jan 22, 21-24-26-29 played. On Mar 16, 24-29-31-34 played. On Mar 30, 21-24-28-30 played. On Apr 13, 21-26-28-29 played. So there is a pattern with 21-24-26 and 29... with some other numbers in there. I also try to reduce the odds by playing fewer decades. Of course the drawing has to cooperate. If the first number is a single or teen, I'm screwed. But hey, it IS still gambling. And of course, Tx 2 Step odds are only 1,832,600 to... [ More ]

If you enter a number on a search through the lines you get that number and a lot of other numbers you don't want, if you search for the space of the number you get the spaces that represent that number through the Lotto any Lotto and that is where the true answer lays so if he can find 3 numbers by using numbers try using the space and it may drag up the other numbers with them shown by a space, there are some examples of spaces in my blogs and they give you all 6 numbers.

Hi Knucklehead. That would be interesting to see if the past numbers could be fed into a math formula to predict the future numbers. (I'm assuming that's what you mean) Maybe you need a trip to the library or better yet the book store to find a book about calculus that would explain the formulas.

I agree with that as well RJOH. But I for one can say before I started looking at the patterns I had almost no success picking numbers for the Super Lotto Plus. I've had more success this past month picking numbers from patterns I see than I had the previous three years combined when I would randomly just pick numbers.

I think its possible to get the winning numbers based on research and past patterns. I'm starting to look at previous patterns in the Super Lotto Plus and this past month I've gotten 3 of the 6 numbers on one line 3 times in the past month. This past Saturdays drawing I had all 6 numbers within the 5 lines I played with but the best I could do was 2 of 6. It just goes to show me I'm on to something and all it takes is one time to get all 6 numbers on one line.

That would be some program but I think there are too many variables involved to fit into one program. ( I always look at the last 5 draws to determine what specifics I'm looking for. It varies every time I choose to play.) Maybe it would be better to write a few smaller programs that look for specific patterns. Then you could compare the results and tweak it from there. I know that's not the answer your looking for but work with what you do know and maybe you can figure out another way to get th... [ More ]

Its size and the odds of it having all the winning numbers would be important to a lottery player decision to try it.

Morning RJOH, has your picks today?

I don't know if what I'm attempting to do is doable...

I've looked at what I believe to be Calculas formulas in an attempt to discover something that could work for this problem. I don't understand why odds are needed in a formula to discover a numerical pattern, t... [ More ]

The best I've done so far is to pick a pattern at random and apply it to 100 drawings of so to see how often it might apply.
