I never-ever eat the fortune cookies, I use the numbers on the back because someone hit the jackpot once with the numbers. I saw the fortune cookie factory on TV and it wasn't up to my standards.

I saw a message saying Time out .

I know my laptop does overtime occasionally, but this was the first time I thought the computer was telling me it needed a break.

So I shut the computer off and restarted it 1 hour later. But even then it was still tired.

From this point on, I only use my computer in 1 hour increments, with 3 hour rests in between just in case. I really don't want to see that message again.

It wasn't funny Todd - I have people from my town that email me about the site being down - I told them they were flagged. ROFL!! Good thing they know me as a Joker! :-). I gave the LP addie to a few good people in my area.

There was a huge storm passing over the country for the past few days and its not over yet, so expect your servers to act up.

I actually find Alexa to be very poor. There are much better services out there, but unfortunately Alexa still gets attention because it was the first of its kind several years ago.

For example, Alexa currently has Lottery Post ranked #17,698, based on whatever internal estaimtes they use.

Oh my gosh Raven, of course the data center has a UPS system! There are several tiers of UPS systems, in fact.

I don't really take these kinds of things personally, but geez, do you think I'm on the junior varsity team or something?

I googled LP also and found Alexa.com. I started surfing those other sites listed. One of them was partially interesting. I also found some highly suspect ones.

For the past week or two I have been experiencing difficulty to get in to this forum! It connects me to this IP address 69.13.244.21 and after a while it flags that it cannot connect me! I was going to report it but thought my be its my computer going BANANAS!

Sorry for the downtime Wednesday evening.

I just wanted to explain that the downtime was caused by a wide-ranging power issue within the data center in which the Lottery Post server operates. (The data center is a huge complex that houses thousands of servers and perhaps hundreds of thousands of web sites.)

When that kind of thing happens, it is beyond my control and the only thing I can do is wait ... like the rest of you ... for it to be restored.
