Way back in the Stoneage when I first played the lottery, the games were more like raffles. A co-worker had bought some tickets in Pennsylvania and I bought $5 worth of them. I didn't win but I was one of the first people in line to play the Buckeye 300 when the Ohio Lottery started. There were other raffle type games before they went online with the Pick-3 game.

All I can remember about playing the lottery the first time is when kansas had to go to Missouri to play. I remember buying a scrstch-off; won$72 i shared with a friend. I don't remember what I played when the Kansas Lottery came in 1987. But I am playing it off it on now

I do not remember my first ticket. However, at the time, Michigan had pre-printed paper tickets that were red, white, and blue. I don't remember the name of the game but the drawing was once a week and you could win $1,000,000. There were $1 scratch tickets and the online tickets consisted of pick 3 and some wierd card game with wierd prize amounts and those card(as in a deck of playing cards) tickets were easy pick only...I do not remember the name of that game either.

My first time, makes me sound like a lotto virgin...well not now, but back then.... Picture it Detroit 1985, I was 10 and my Grandma was buying Instant tickets that I could Scratch and she would say....Loser...Loser...Loser.. snip Boy you gonna scratch a winner.... Oh well Fast forward to TN

Its TN first day of Lottery...every Redneck and wannabe in the state was there...oh Sorry Gov.. I did not mean you...whatever, I spent a few bucks, lost a few bucks... SO I went to Ga instead....

It was nothing special. I saw the scratchers at the store and bought one, realizing I was of legal age. Didn't win anything, but I bought a couple more and lost interest quickly. It was until several months ago when I was out job hunting. I stopped at 7/11 for a drink and decided to buy a 2 dollar scratcher. I won 4 dollars... At that point, I wanted to buy more scratchers with the money I won, hoping I could win even more. I looked on the michigan lotto website and discovered the jackpot games.... [ More ]

Gosh so long ago. My Grandfather took our family on a trip in his RV....along the way he taught me to play Poker..and lotto. We collected tickets across the US. I guess the very first place we played was in Florida where we would talk, Fish, fill out play slips, and talk about what we were going to do with the money.(Basicly run away to Alaska...Hunt Fish and travel!..LOL) Good memories of Grandpa.....Still enjoy playing Florida lotto when I get down that way........

i was in college and 1 night i was listening to a conversation that i was in they weren't talking to me but i was there in the conversation and someone said that they played scratchoffs and that it was cool, so i stored it in my head and i said to myself that whenever i get money i will go and buy me one, the gas station was on the next block of the college...So the following night lots of people mentioned the lottery topic and how cool it was to play it [we were in a college dorm] and how much... After losing thousands with Tennessee lottery last year with the 249,I played it 10 times combo on midday,they played it that night and again the next day,,,I stopped that day and will never play again.I love it too,I have so much money now and she cant have any more it...thats the fun part about it.

I was in my 3rd year in the military and I was sick of it. I thought the lottery would be my ticket out of the military. One night after work I bought $3 Mega Millions tickets. I won $7.. eventually I finished the military and I still play the lottery today.

My first time playing the lottery was in the early to mid 80's.The Illinois lotto was at 40 million dollars,a record amount at that time.I had to wait in line for 2 hours because so many people wanted to play.I ended up winning $40 and I was hooked.

my first time ever playing the lottery was the grand opening of the tennessee lottery which i think was back in february of 2004 at midnight when they started selling scratch offs.a month later they started the pick 3 in march of 2004.i bought around fifty dollars worth of scratch offs and i think i won most of the money back.
