I love matching my wits against the lottery commission. I spend time studying the games I play so I notice certain things that the casual player may not notice and cash in on. Have I won a jackpot? Still working on it. As far as I am concerned, finding the right combination is the fun part. Winning the jackpot is the payoff for all of the hard work and tenacity of working and finding the right combination at the right time.

I'm with ThatScaryChick and RJOh.

Knowledge of the game and personal results are two separate things.

If you'd want to call it IQ, and if we're talking PB and MM, concsidering odds of 176 million or 195 million to one, I'd say that the lotto IQ would drop with each additional dollar spent on the same game.

The lotto IQ would also drop with the belief that a system to beat lotto exists, or that if there was such a system the game would still be offered to be played.

Chances are good that unless they've won a jackpot most lottery players have spent more than they've won. Does this means most lottery players don't know much about the lotteries they play or are the odds of winning such that states will always take in more money than they payout

Knowledge of the lottery and winning the lottery are two different things. I think I am very knowledgeable about the lottery games I play, so I rated myself high. But I am not very good a winning...so far. I don't think that I would rate myself low because of that, since your first post said: How would you rank yourself in your knowledge of the lottery games you play
