No, this is an old story from several months ago, which I already covered in the news section. One legislator was sponsoring such a bill, but it did not even make it to a vote before it was killed.

I wonder if they are going to make people on TN Care pay up , too? Pay for their past medical expenses. This state is just getting whackier by the day. I still don't agree with gun law. Until I see a serious drop in the crime rate, this to me is just another goofy law which encourages people to be legal vigilantes.

The Legislature tabled this bill, meaning it could come up again next session. The bill would apply to those winning $600 or more because they have to go to the Lottery headquarters to cash in. The bill would be similiar to the Child Support measure. Do you honestly believe that a law, any law, will keep that one nut from entering a bar, restuaurant, or public park with a gun and wreck mayhem?

During each instance of a gun crime in this country that are at the minimum 10 laws broken. One more law won't stop the criminal but an honest citizen, obeying the law, carrying legally, having passed the training required of a carry permit, just might be the saving grace of several innocent people.

I thought they weren't passing that..they talked about it and that is the last I heard. It is an impossible law to enforce. When folks play the lottery, they don't use their food stamp cards so who is going to know? Are they going to have someone there to ask if a person is on public assistance? Well, add this to those stupid gun laws they passed..I won't be going into any bars or restuarants anytime soon or parks for that matter. No telling when that one nut will start shooting.

They are trying to pass a law where if you receive food stamps,you cannot receive no more than $600 no matter how much you win,i think this is discrimination and taking rights away from poor people who are trying to get ahead,I thought this was a free country but looks like it belongs to the rich,another case of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.What do you think?dont they know that if a poor person won a lot of money it would save the government money in the long run.
