According to the posted topic - Discharging Reoccurrence Distribution, this value can be found for any reoccurrence of any phenomena. Just plug in the values.

Discharge Reoccurrence - y = (d / m2 ) e -(x / m )

d - total number of draws

m - average rate of reoccurrence

x - draw difference or Dd between two draw occurrences

y - the approximate frequency of reoccurrence for a given draw difference or Dd for a given draw count d

The values in this case are d = 365 (draws, assumin... [ More ]

A double has a 270::1,000 chance of appearing on any particular draw, no matter what the previous draw was. If you wait for a double to be drawn, then, yes, the odds of the next draw being a double are exactly that - 270::1,000. And then you have two consecutive draws with doubles. However, the chances of the first draw being a double are also 270::1,000, therefore the chances of drawing doubles on two consecutive draws are as stated above.

In the thread https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/197307 a similar situation was discussed and clarified with pick3 combinations.

The odds of two doubles appearing in a row are not the same as the odds of someone winning with two doubles in a row. While the odds of someone winning with two doubles in a row is 7.29%, the odds of two doubles(not the same doubles) appearing in a row is 270:1000 or 27% because the first double doesn't have any odds associated with its appearance.

Real world ways we might use that data in the Pick 3 ......such as

Look for a double to follow a double around every 13.72 draws average......or about every 2 weeks. (for a 365 draw game)

or......

If for example.....the last 6 or 7 times a double hit it was followed by a second double hit...... it might be the time to flip back to a LONE single double hit without the second follow up double.

As usual, Johnph77 has it right (but he didn't follow through). With doubles accounting for 27% of expected results, back to back doubles would be expected 7.29% of the time. If there is one drawing per day we should expect back to back doubles .0729*365 times, or 26.6 times per year. For two drawings per day it would be 53.2. For 5 doubles in a row it would be .27^5 or 0.0014348907 * 365 or 730. That's either once every two years or once per year.

There are 270 doubles in a Pick 3 lottery pool. Odds of two doubles in a row? Simply (270/1000)x(270/1000), 72,900::1,000,000, 1::13.717421, or 7.29%.

Two double numbers came out today in the Ohio Lottery. 707 Midday, and Eveing, 474 a lot of doubles have been coming lately in Ohio, 225 and a few more I just can't think of them right now.

KY ....EVE had 86 doubles the last 365 days .............and had 17 times a double followed a double. Thats an average of around every 5th double.

KY Midday had 96 doubles the last 365......and had 20 doubles occurances ..... Thats an average of around every 5th double as well.

So far, it sure looks as if ..... you have not had a double follow a double in 5 or 6 doubles Get ready.

Hello little old person ! LOL I am thinking you are very close.

I just did IN eve .....they had 104 doubles in the last 365 days ......and had 20 back to back doubles ...( those that are at least 2 in a row but not counting more than 2 in a row)

365 20 is 5.4 %

But ...wait

you could say that 20 doubles (stacks of 2) per year figure is .... 20% of all the doubles hit per yr . ( not counting singles)

Until we get the real math average .... we might say look out for a d... [ More ]

Well.... thats the overall expected hit rate for doubles at 27%

Let's see ..... 99 doubles per year expected average x .27 = 26.73 ...... 27 per year. Seems high to me.

How many times did IN get 2 doubles in a row last year ? Just 2 in a row now.... not counting 3,4,or 5 stacks..... just the first 2 of each stack over 2 or more

How many times a year does a double follow a double in pick 3 ??

What's the expected math average ?

My gut says about 12 to 20 per yr.

Now ...that's just a double double ...... not counting those times it goes 3 or 4 or 5 doubles in a row.

* By the way .....my guess is 2 to 3 times a year we will get 5 doubles in a row.

In a 365 day year .... we can expect approx 99 doubles a year ......and 263 S... [ More ]
